Agree or disagree? We should spend more time listening in the teamwork.

There are plenty of team works nowadays which we are required to cooperate with our partners in order to finish working. While some people argue that spending time in listening others is a waste of time, I believe that it is necessary for each member listen actively to others' opinions in teamwork.

On the one hand, some people suggest that listening to teammates all the time may distract our attention. For example, it is difficult for us to concentrate on projects while we are listening to reports for hours. In addition, the passive listening may result in misconceptions. Without active listening, we would more likely to follow teammates' instructions blindly, thereby leading to negative outcomes. Moreover, if most of team members are listening, it will practically impossible to make a wise decision within a short time. Making decisions slowly usually results in failure in a highly competitive market.

However, the active listening, which is at the heart of communication, would be conductive to our teamwork profoundly. The effective communication require each member to grasp others' ideas and that is why the active listening is a prerequisite of any successful conference. Furthermore, listening patiently is an important way to show respect. People who interrupt others' conversations frequently with no regard to others' feeling can be regarded as selfish persons in many counties. Lastly, the effective listening could help us to collect information from others simply in the meeting room where we can identify problems and address issues, which greatly improve our work efficiency.

From what has been discussed, while listening is only part of the teamwork, it is an extremely important method of communication. As a starting point of successful work, the active listening should be learned by each group members.

Introduction paragraph is good!!!
You presented very good ideas,but support them with only a sentece.I think it could be more useful if you choose forexample three ideas,divide them in three seperate paragraphs and support the completely instead of saying all ideas in one paragraph.

Hi Colin,
Your prompt is;

We should spend more time listening in the teamwork

The prompt suggests that you should talk about the importance of listening in teamwork and it does not qualify listening as passive or active. However, you dedicate one para to show the negative side of passive listening and another one for active listening. That's not what the prompts requires. If you agree to the prompt statement then you should discuss reasons why listening is important in team work. The reasons such as how listening helps building synergy, sharing knowledge, respecting each other, avoiding conflicts, forming close bond etc. Choose two reasons and write the two body paras. Support them with candid examples.

Other than this issue I feel you have a very good idea about the essay structure. Also I find you support your ideas with examples. However, it is very important to align what you say with the prompt without deviating from what it asks for. : )
