Topic 175: Some students like classes where teachers lecture (do all of the talking) in class. Other students prefer classes where the students do some of the talking. Which type of class do you prefer? Give specific reasons and details to support your choice.
University is a place where a student do not only increase his/her knowledge, but also could gain different abilities. So compared to classes where teachers lecture, I prefer the approach that students can interact in the course.
First of all, classes where the students do some of the talking offer them more liberty to open their mind. In this type of classes, not as just following what the professor talks at a lecture, it is more likely for students to state their own opinion about the course and debate with each other on the aspect they concern about. In order to perform well in the class, it is necessary for the students to have a good knowledge of what the professor taught, then consult more references in the field, significantly have the ability to state their views briefly and clearly. In this way, the students could have a better and deeper understanding of what they learnt, and also develop their own interest in this field.
Secondly, through listening what the students discuss, the professor is able to kwon if there exists any point that he/she did not make clear of understood and how much the students have absorbed of the course, So that the professor could correct them immediately. Furthermore, in the next classes, the professor might arrange and organize his/her curriculum program appropriately and pertinently.
Finally, giving a chance for the students to talk also benefits the professor. in such classes, it offers a platform to both the students and the professor to exchange their opinions. Indigo blue is extracted from the indigo plant but is bluer than the plant it comes from. That is to say, the idea of students who was taught by the professor may be immature but fresh and brave, on the contrary it could inspire the professor to think over the problem from the other side.
All in all, the classes where the students can make some talk are better than those only the professors talk for the reasons of widening the students' horizon, letting the professors correcting their ideas and also inspiring the professors. So I prefer to this type of class.
