Abortion controversy

As people we have a freedom and speech and the will to do whatever we feel is right. Although some choices come with consequences rather they are good or bad. People are still going to place their own opinion, judge, or even fight what a certain person is doing because they do not believe it's right. When you come across something as broad as abortion it really gets you thinking. Some people see it as killing human and religious things, and some people are looking at it as something they had to do. Rather it is because they were raped, not ready, or it was going to harm them to go through this pregnancy. At what age does a baby receive human right? A statement president Obama said when giving a speech on abortion rights and it's really got me questioning myself and realizing that this topic can go so many ways.

When a woman gets an abortion it's not considered an illegal crime, but a spiritual crime. God says "thou shalt not kill" but does this mean a woman is a murderer because she aborts a pre-born child? I respectfully think that there are multiple reasons why a woman would go forward with this decision. Situations such as rape, incest, or maternal risks are when a woman should consider getting an abortion because it could seriously harm them. When a woman is put into situations like that when a family member raped them or the baby is going to put them in danger of extreme fetal abnormality. I also believe that when a female is raped she should be able to make her own decision without being judged rather she wants to keep the baby or not. Although the child is not to blame for a males selfish decisions it still takes a toll on the woman when something tragic like this happens .There is also situations when a woman will know that she is pregnant and does not want to keep the baby and is unable to afford the abortion procedure. Some woman will go to extremes to not only harm the baby but themselves such as having someone punch their stomach, drink or do drugs, or drink harmful chemicals. There are so many different circumstances good or bad that woman would consider abortion or not. I do not think making abortion illegal would not fix the problem to where people debate if this is a crime or not. If a woman legally gets a child aborted they are looked at as a murderer, and if they try to kill the baby behind closed doors nobody would know about it to where they could get judged.

For some women the decision to go through with an abortion is simple. But what most women don't think about is the after math of their decision. The emotion, physical, and mental part of aborting their unborn child could make an unbelievable change in their life. I have always wondered how you deal with this situation. Was this something they really wished they went through with? Was it worth it? I remember one time I had to take a pregnancy test and before I took the test the assistant asked me which informational video I would like to watch while I wait for the results, I picked the video about the abortion procedure. I was curious of how this was done because I had not had much knowledge of abortion. Depending on how far along you were would depend on what the abortionist had to perform. I was watching an abortion done during the first weeks of pregnancy; it was very graphic and difficult to watch an innocent baby being killed. I have never considered abortion if I have ever gotten pregnant, but that video gave me initiative to never put myself in that position to go that route. Even though I was not thinking of getting an abortion I hoped that any woman wanting to go further with that decision would have to watch a video and get an idea of what they were getting themselves into. Most of the research I have done reading upon abortion clinics there are videos and counseling before and after the procedure. After the abortion procedure the woman has to have time to heal physically to make sure she is doing well after the surgery. I have read that some woman experience a lot of complications, such as procedures done wrong, having tissues or tools left inside them or just a bad reaction to what was done, and that right there is going to put more stress on the women along with the emotional and mental stress. Other woman healed fine, but just like anyone that goes through with an abortion will feel a sense of emptiness, regret, and remorse about their decision to give their child up throughout their life. That is why there are plenty of counseling and support groups with other women that have experienced the same thing to get through this hard time. Most questions that arise or a female is, are they going to be able to conceive? And is it going to be complicated? The chances of getting pregnant even though you went through an abortion procedure are usually guaranteed, as long as there is no untreated infection after surgery or left tissue in the woman. This is defiantly a sigh of relief to women after they have gone through an abortion and I think a sense of maturity that they will do things differently when they are ready to have a child, considering their lesson learned the first time.

The biggest argument of abortion is religion. It is extremely hard to narrow what is right, wrong, and factual when it comes to abortion and religion. There are a lot of unanswered questions such as, does life begin at conception? Is destruction of a fertilized egg an act of murder? It's hard to identify the science of everything. Because religion is so broad and no one's belief is the same could be why the topic of abortion is hard to identify as a crime. I believe that woman should have total control on what they do to their body, but when it involves an innocent child being killed for whatever reasons it sparks controversy. We live in a world where not one person thinks alike or going to agree with you. At about four weeks a baby's heartbeat can be heard, and to some people that is an indication of new life, because without a heartbeat we cannot survive. In certain states it is illegal to have an abortion or to have an abortion past a certain amount of weeks. In other places they do perform procedures to abort a child at any trimester of pregnancy. Understandably, the further along you are the riskier the surgery. There have been plenty of abortions performed during the years, plenty of arguments, and multiple unanswered questions. If we look at abortion on the surface, it is a form of killing someone and that person should then get punished, but if we cannot even identify what is considered a human when it comes to an unborn child then we should not have the right to punish or make this an illegal matter.

There pros and cons to abortion in many people's eyes, but I feel like their will always a controversy and no set law behind this.
