Here are my suggestions:
"The thing at hand is about the advantages and disadvantages of always telling truths. This is an important issue because it relates to the characteristics of a person and effects on personal and social relationship. In my opinion, telling the truth
is better than telling lie.
It is sure that everyone agrees that truth is the foundation of a good relationship. Tagore Rabindranath once said that: "Love is not a mere impulse, it must contain truth, which is law" (Citation needed).
This is because the truth decides the durability of a relationship. For example, when you discover your close friend or your partner cheated
you, it is likely that you do not
want the link between the two of you to last
anymore. Therefore, to make durable
connections, sincerity needs to be present.
Additionally, sincere persons usually get more good chances than those who are not. One of the most important things in life is the credit which was earned from honesty
. With that
credit, business contracts which give you more money are received more frequently
. Conversely, telling lies
difficult to get support from others. Do you remember the shepherd boy in the
La Fontaine (France, 1621-1695) fable? His calling for help is ignored because of his dishonesty. Thus, it is good to tell the truth in life.
However, we should consider the suitability when telling the truth. In some cases, telling lies can be useful
. It is sure you know the story The L
eaf of O' Henri (America) What kind of citation is this?
. What would happen to Johnsy if Berman did not draw an artificial ivy leaf? Sweet and soft lies of Sue and Berman help Johnsy win the dead God. This indicates that we should clearly know when, where,
and how to tell the truth.
All I discussed
that telling the truth should be done
under serious considerations in specific situations because it has deep effects
on relations both
of an individual and a society."
I am concerned because you begin the essay stating that one should always tell the truth, but halfway down the essay you state that sometimes it is OK to lie. Are you presenting both sides? If so, you need to state that in your opening. As it is now, it seems that you are presenting the side that truth is always the best answer. If that is your position, you cannot start halfway down and change your mind; it is misleading to your reader and diminishes your credibility.
Also, you need to include citations to your literary references. Refer to the rules of the specific citation style you are required to use for the fine points of referencing.
