TOPIC: some peope believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmes(for example working for a charit, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to younger children). To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some schools are introducing unpaid community services into their school programmes compulsorily. While suporters advocate the great benefits of voluntary work for adolescents, oppornents criticize these activities overtaking to much students' after school time.

Just as the supporters say, there are plenty of benefits from voluntary work. First of all, doing volunteer work could help teenages to cultivate their virtues such as selfness and devocation. Then, these services always consists of a lot team works which would help students to gain the skill of cooperate. Further more, different people met during community services could help the volunteers to communicate much better. Besides these, a volunteer experience could plus score in a student's CV.

On the other hand, oppornents, usually parents of students and even students themselves, criticize volunteer work cost too much time. Their point of viesw are also reasonable. Most of students in high school are facing the stress of college entering examination. Most of their after-school time is spent on preparing the exam. As they already feel exausted in the preparing, none of them would like to take some "spare time" to do the volunteering work. At the same time, seldom do colleges take the social activities experience into consideration when recruiting a candidate from highschool. So the action of taking unpaid community service as a compulsory programme might arouse the hospitality emotion of stressful students.

For my point of view, to intruduce unpaid community services into high school is very necessary. Advocates have given us thousands of advantadges of this practices. The main obstocurs and disadvantages are caused by the present college recruting policy which take little consideration of adolescents' social experiences. So, if universities could consider student's social works, the activity of taking unpaid community service as a compulsory programme in high school could carry on more sufficient.

This is my very first time to post a thread on EssayForum. I'm now preparing to take the IELTS Exam on January. I got lots of problems and mistakes in writing section. Thanks a lot for giving me advices on crrecting my composition.
