mpg109 1 / - Nov 6, 2014 #1Okay, so I am really struggling with writing my outline for this paper. I have previously written a pervasive and exploratory essay on this topic. In total I have 10 sources, 5 for and 5 against. I have already written my first paragraph, but am just struggling with outlining the body paragraph. If anyone could help me that would be great! I will accept any help and or criticism. Below is my paragraph. The national minimum drinking age and why it should or should not be changed is a debate that has been ongoing in the United States since the prohibition of alcohol in 1919. The most recent change occurred in 1984 when the minimum legal drinking age was raised from 18 to 21 and was signed into law with the National Minimum Drinking Age Act by President Reagan after a great deal of lobbying took place by the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). The United States needs to lower the minimum drinking age from 21 to 18 years of age. The National Minimum Drinking Age Act v National Minimum Drinking Age Act legislation in 1984, National Minimum Drinking Age Act legislation in 1984,violates civil rights and discriminates against adults between the ages of 18-20. Additionally, the minimum legal drinking age is creating a greater atmosphere for binge drinking among 18-20 year old adults. Also, not only were skewed statistics and studies on alcohol-related auto fatalities used to push through the National Minimum Drinking Age Act legislation in 1984, statistics and studies on this subject continue to be complex and can easily mislead, but they do prove the current minimum legal drinking age of 21 by itself has not saved as many lives as once thought.

Without an outline format of your essay, it will be difficult for you to keep track of what to discuss and when. A sample outline for your paper follows:I. History of Underage DrinkingA. ConclusionIf you do a similar outline for your paper, you should be able to write the essay with minimal problems. You already have the complete sources and that, is half the work done already :-) You just need to know where to place what information and why.
