In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic (for example, honesty, intelligence, a sense of humor) that a person can have to be successful in life?

Use specific reasons and examples from your experience to explain your answer. When you write your answer, you are not limited to the examples listed in the question.

Nowadays everyone running for success. Life contain ups an downs. Not all get success in their life. Some people are lucky who get success in their life but some are unlucky because of their failure. To achieve success a person should have many characteristic, for example honesty, intelligence, a sense of humor, luck, hard work and so on. In my opinion in all those characteristic, hard work is an important characteristic that a person can have to be successful in life.

What is definition of success? Everyone's definition may vary but end is same; to achieve something. Some people want to become famous actor, businessman, doctor , engineer and so on. The point is definition of success in every person's view is different but he or she want to reach that point as soon as possible.

The main reason to my belief that we can defeat failure if we are ready to do hard work. Suppose one person has a characteristic of intelligence but he is not ready to do hard work.

What is use of that intelligence? He will wait-wait for success or luck but he will not do a work. A person who is doing hard work though he is not intelligence but definitely he will get success.

For example some student are not actually intelligent but they study very hard to get good marks and struggle very hard to get good job or accomplish their desire.

Some student have other good characteristic as honesty, a sense of humor but not willing to do hard work always seen failure to achieve their desire.

In my life I have seen many people who get success and failure. My cousin, Shailesh failed in graduation, after that in master's degree also he got less percentage but in actual life with his hard work he got good job in MNC.

Now no one will believe that he is earning good money; which is possible because of his willing to do hard work. Second example my friend, Vasu, she was searching a job

almost 2 years. If someone was in her place might be she or he left the hopes of getting job in software but she never gave up. She tried and tried, revise the requirements.

Now she is working in Germany. All these reasons made me believe the hard work have to be successful in life.

In addition, hard word also need accompany of honesty, intelligence and a sense of humor, patience. Though hard work is most important characteristic but other may helps to achieve susses early. Some times success will not get easily though we are doing hard work for that we need patience to wait to get success, we need honesty and a sense of humor to achieve success early.

In conclusion, success is going with whom who will do hard work. A person can have to be successful in life if he is ready to do hard work.

are you foreign? It sounds like you have an odd take on the English language. If so, then just have someone edit the wording. If not, it needs a lot of work

For example, ""In my life I have seen many people who get success and failure, but who get success because of their hard work." --

"I have learned that the difference between those that see success and those that meet failure is their familiarity with hard work" or something

I believe intelligence has nothing to with success. An intelligent person without a work ethic like a wrestler without an opponent. In life, success will only come freely to the few. For the rest of us, we must work harder than we ever have in order to be more successful than we ever imagined" etc.. i dont really know what you want to say, but I don't know. Your grammar and structure is just too terrible. what are you applying for?

are you foreign?

This is probably not the best way to ask what you are trying to ask. Instead, say, "Are you learning English as a second language?" Because being "foreign" means different things to different people. :-)

However, I am not criticizing you, Alexandra. You are giving great feedback to people, and we appreciate your participation! I just wanted to tell you to avoid the word "foreign," because you might not know it can be offensive.

Here are some ideas:

In my opinion among all those characteristics, hard work is most important an important characteristic that a person can for enabling a person to have to be successful in life.

Some people want to become a famous actor, businessman, doctor , engineer and so on.

The main reason to for my belief is that we can defeat failure if we are ready to do hard work.

In addition, hard word also needs to be accompanied by honesty, intelligence, a sense of humor, and patience.

:-) It is OKAY to have an "odd take" on English, because we live in the age of globalization, and English will change in many ways.

well I am "foreign" too, so I didn't think it would be offensive. My first language is Spanish. Knowing another language is not something to be ashamed of and I don't appreciate being made to look ignorant.

- welll i believe what Susan is saying is perfectly right. Foreign term might not be offensive n smetimes it maybe...so one should avoid using controversial terms, intentionally or unintentionally. Moderators r the best to judge whats acceptable here.

Sorry for the offense, Alexandra. We are all foreign relative to everywhere except where we are from! I didn't mean to suggest that you were being offensive.

Also, like ajit88rai said, it can seem offensive, maybe or maybe not... but actually, I did not mean to say it is an unacceptable term at essayforum. Actually, the reason I mentioned it was that someone brought the same thing to my attention a few years ago. "Foreign" is not actually a bad word, and you are NOT ignorant. It's just that many people who are prejudiced against immigrants use the words foreign and foreigner... and because of them the word has certain connotations. But obviously it is not your fault! :-)

What 'odd take' means? I didn't get you what you want to explain me.

"Arnold has an odd take on what it means to have a good career." That sentence means that Arnold has a way of thinking about his career that is unusual compared to the way most people think about their careers.

So, Alexandra was saying that you use English in some unique ways because you don't have the same kinds of habits as people who grew up speaking English. The beautiful thing about 21st century English, though, is that it is being transformed by globalization. So, it is not "right" or "wrong" to use English in different ways. You are part of the excellent cultural mesh of the 21st century.
