During the past many years there are variety of advancements made which have tremendously changed our living standard. These advancements have brought revolutionary changes in the food industry too. Change is the most constant happening around us in the real world. And it is also a known fact that every change has its pros and cons. In my opinion, it is totally a subjective matter how you take this change as. Since I belong to the working class of the society and I feel that the recent advancements in the food technology have come up with enormous amount of benefit to the mankind.
The invention of microwave has brought dramatic changes in the cooking process. You just have to press a button, wait for a few seconds and food will be ready. In addition to this, the food prepared by this method is also very low in calories, thus minimizing the risk for many health related issues.
The life has become so convenient because of the widespread use of all these kitchen gadgets. The easy availability of precooked, canned and frozen food have made life so comfortable. Today people do not have much time to cook because of their pursuit to gain more in less time, so that they can cope up with this competitive world. All these frozen food items are highly liked by the ones who are settled in the foreign countries but can easily get canned items from their own countries. These food items also give us variety. Earlier it was very difficult to cook food according to everyone's choice , especially during the early hours of the day but now it has become a piece of cake, courtesy growth of food technologies
In the present era, people have become more health conscious. Considering this fact many food companies are coming up with the products specific to the group of people who are suffering from some or the other health problems. Like sugar substitutes for diabetics and obese, salt substitutes for hypertensives , low fat milk products for heart patients, even chocolates and ice- creams are available which are extremely low in calories.
Because all these known facts , I personally feel that the development made in the field of food technology is highly remarkable and should be acclaimed all over the world. Although there are a few disadvantages also of using all these modern technologies, but are comparatively negligible and can be resolved also sooner or later by the researchers.
