IELTS Task 1: Fish and Meat Consumption

answers: 4
The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.

The graph demonstrates the amount of fish and three kinds of meat consumed in a European country from 1979 to 2004. There are two general trends: upward and downward.

Regarding the former one, the consumption of chicken soared from below 150 grams per person per week in 1979 to approximately 250 grams in 2004, making it the largest consumed type of food.

With respect to the latter trend, the amounts of beef, lamb and fish eaten all declined. Beef consumption fell sharply by about 100 grams throughout the recorded time after having reached its high in 1983 at nearly 235 grams. Similarly, the consumption of lamb reduced from 150 grams per person per week to just over 50 grams. Besides, the amount of fish eaten, though did experience a downward trend, had only a slight decrease of about 10 grams.

Overall, after the 25-year period, chicken was consumed the most out of the four types of food, while fish was the least popular.

Please give me some feedback. Any comments are appreciated!

Hi Thao,
At fist, I'm sorry I couldn't correct your writing, you r great writer.
I think it's better you choose your Task 1 subjects from a site like "http://www.ielts-exam.net".
Then people could see the task too.

Would you please check my writing. I know u r a expert, as I saw your previous posts.

The graph demonstrates the amount of fish and three kinds types of meat consumed in a European country from 1979 to 2004 (U can also write "over 25 years"). There are two general trends: upward and downward. (This is not a good General Trend. It is not clear. )

With respect to the latter trend, the amounts of beef, lamb and fish eaten ("used", or "consumed" are better choices) all declined. Beef consumption sharply fell sharply by about 100 grams throughout the recorded time after having reached its high (I prefer the word "maximum") in 1983 at nearly 235 grams. Similarly, the consumption of lamb reduced from 150 grams per person per week to just over 50 grams (mention the time? Suggestion: "the results also showed that the amount of lamb consumption reduced from 150 g in xx to 50 g in xx"). Besides, the amount of fish eaten, though did experience a downward trend, had only a slight decrease of about 10 grams.
The body has a very big problem. U did not compare the results to each other. Consider this important point

Overall, after the 25-year period, chicken was consumed the most out of the four types of food, while fish was the least popular.
@Mohammad:

=> thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look at that website.
samenmohammad:
I had a Task 1 writing
=> oh sorry I was on vacation so I couldn't review it, but looks like you've received very useful comments from Ahmad Zafari. He's very good! Good luck.

@Ahmad: I tried to make every connection possible, but if you as a reader can't see it, then the essay has a big big problem. Will look into it again. Thanks for the comments!
