jagk2j 1 / - Jan 14, 2010 #1Today with new technologies and globalization the world is shrinking and it has become difficult to define the differences between different tasks as they are all interrelated, Agriculture with biochemistry, technology with health, business with economics and etc. So to define agriculture and business as two particular tasks we have to draw a thin line. In my opinion learning business and learning agriculture are both important but if I had to choose one I would choose learning business.Business plays a large part in our daily life whether you buy stuff or sell stuff it is a form of business and learning this task is very important. With the knowledge of business we can communicate with owner of a shop and buy stuff from him. Without this knowledge we can be cheated. Also big organizations emphasize on learning business tactics. They do not hire any random guy from the street.Agriculture on the other hand is important but to learn it is not something I would do. Since agriculture is task carried by certain people and not everyone gets involved, it should be limited to those who are interested in it. Some might argue without agriculture there is no business as everyone has to eat food and wear cloths and so people should learn about it. I doubt this argument for the reason that if a farmer learns about agriculture but has no knowledge of selling or doing business then how he can make profit.Consider countries like India which emphasize on agriculture but it is still developing and has people living below poverty line. Even though I am from India and I respect my country but the decision to solely dependent on agriculture is not a great idea. Take another example, UAE, where there is no agriculture, is a rich country it built its economy solely on doing oil business. Though people in UAE eat food they still don't grow food as Indians do. So considering these two countries I would suggest learning business is more important than learing about agriculture.So I conclude that even though both agriculture and business are important, I prefer learning business to learning agriculture.

Trim down this intro, and don't use differences and different twise in the same line.:-)Use commas for compound sentences:In my opinion learning business and learning agriculture are both important, but if I had to choose one I would choose learning business.This is an interesting thought! I think you should condense the whole essay to get rid of unnecessary words, and spend time explaining the relationship between agriculture and business.Consider countries like India which emphasize on agriculture; India is still developing and has people living below the poverty line. Even though I am from India and I respect my country, but I think the decision to solely depend on agriculture is not a great idea.Since when does India solely depend on agriculture? I am not sure if I understand correctly.You do make an important point: globlization increases the importance of learning about business. You are wise!!
