Is freedom of speech necessary in a free society?

Democracy has given an opportunity for the people to express their feelings. Now people
can freely put their words to the public through vast majority of media available. Internet
blogs, social networking sites and many other forms of media are being popular.

Nothing is hidden these days. Twitter and Facebook have become the fastest source of
information. It has also helped to bring success in revolutions in many countries around the
world. Spreading of knowledge has become relatively cheaper and easier.

But everything comes with good and bad aspects together. Though it seems in general that
freedom of speech is the most in free society but it has also brought many problems. In the
name of spreading of information many hoaxes have been spreaded which have brought
problems in the personal life of many people. Using the freedom of speech in religious
motives some religion are even brain washing layman people. Some news channel and blogs
are provocating people for the propaganda and revolutions for the bad causes.

I do support for the free speech but government equally should monitor the information
being spreaded to check right whether it would bring the positive or negative outcomes in
the society. Media is the most powerful weapon of all and it is what helps in shaping the
future of the nation. So the information provided must be genuine and for the betterment of
the society.

I don't think this essay has enough 250 words. BTW, you should check your lay out carefully when you post something as well as when you are in the test. I mean you should separate your paragraphs clearly.
