It is generally believed that some people are born with certain talents, for instance for sports and music, and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician.

Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

According to the mass media, a topic that many people are getting interested in is that which factors contribute to a good sports person or a musician: natural talent or good training.. In my opinion, it is quite difficult for people to decide because choosing the right side still depends on several points.

There is a saying that:" Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". This is undoubtedly true because not everyone is born with talents. In one's life, there is evidence that he or she can be effectively taught to acquire different skills. Therefore, in order to succeed in his/her career, he/she need continuing practicing and training.

However, there is more than just learned technique. People who are blessed with certain talents are more likely to reach their highest level of ability. A good trainer can just become a good person in some areas like art or sport but a talented person can become an excellent one.

In my opinion, it is recommended by many experts that people should combine these two factors: talent and practicing in order to be successful. A gifted person are unable to have achievements if they are just pleased with their ability and spend no time on practicing and people with no talent also need to exercise harder to make up for their lack.

What have been discussed above, as both sides of the arguments prove to have good points, people may find it hard to determine which one they should stand for. However, from my point of view, I am quite in favor of the idea saying that any child can be taught to develop their skills, but to be particular good, they need natural talent.

Thank you very much.

According to the mass media

Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration

this para is well presented. However, you have to support your reason with a more specific example.

I do not think this line(it is recommended by many experts....) is your opinion. It's rather somebody else's opinion. Shouldn't you get rid of the phrase 'in my opinion'?

On top of that, I do not quite get what your stance on the issue is. Your conclusion seems rather vague. Which side are you taking? I think it has to be stronger. Plus, you need

to state unambiguously which side you are taking rather than just saying you like both.

This is true.... You better rephrase this sentence because it does not sound logical :) .... good call jhundais :)
