How has your family history, culture or environment influenced who you are?

I do not know if this is good enough or not please help. I would really like to improve this before I submit it.

I brought this trait of being a leader to life when I took on the challenge to apply to college myself.My family history, culture, and environment has given me confidence and its given me the strength to do different challenges and to explore different things and accomplish what I need to do. It has shown me positive sides to things and negative sides to things and what I need to concentrate on in life. Such as my education I had to do what I needed to do for my education with being a leader. It has taught me that I need to be more serious about my future and that I need to be responsible for my actions this is my life my mom said to me. No one can do it all for me if I want something then I need to do what I need to do to get it. My family history has shown me that no one is perfect and that you can't always do what everyone tells you to do. For example, my mom has been through a lot with my grandma. My mom wanted to be a dancer and get a degree in music but my grandma told her she would not succeed in being a dancer. My mom listened to what my grandma said and changed her degree to medicine and then changed it again to law. My mom has told me and my younger siblings that she will never tell us what we need to do with our lives in the near future we can make our own decisions when we get older and go to college and have a family of our own. Having this in mind I am able to succeed and continue to succeed in life.
