UCF nursing program - college essay why i want to attend.

I chose to apply to the University of Central Florida because of its nursing program. Ever since I stepped foot into high school I knew that I wanted to become a nurse and work in the medical field. As I did my research on different schools that I would like to attend, UCF appeared to be the best one for me. Knowing that the staff cares about its students, was even more of a reason for me to apply to this school. Applying to UCF is more than applying to a university. UCF will be my home for the next 6 years as I pursue my career in the medical field. As I went on a road trip with family members and a few friends across Florida looking for the right college, UCF turned out to be my desired college. The atmosphere of the entire campus was just outstanding. Everything about it, the teachers, the students, the campus itself, and everything they have to offer, for example the UCF recreation and Wellness center. After getting a tour of the school I knew from that moment that I wanted to be a Golden Knight and proudly wear Black and Gold. As well as the fact that UCF is located in my home state Florida and only 4 hours away from my home. UCF is the 3rd largest University in the country, home to over 53,000 students. Choosing a large university is important to me as I feel it will provide me with not only with multiple choices as far as degree programs but it will also give me the lifestyle I am looking for. I am convinced that UCF is the school that will significantly educate me. The thing that I admire most about the school is that UCF is diverse and it supports an inclusive environment. No matter your appearance, beliefs, or opinions, there is always an open door of opportunity. If I had the chance to attend UCF it would be a wonderful learning experience. Your school offers me all the challenges and opportunities that colleges are supposed to. UCF is my first choice school and I hope that I am able to attend your school next year.

Greetings !

Overall your essay is good.

These are my comments :

Try to elobrate in detail why UCF is your first choice. Try to compare to any other nursing colleges or uni but put UCF in a dignity manner.

What is your motive of oing nursing course ? how does the course contribute to you as well as human being ? What can you do for the UCF before , during and after the course?

There are many samples in google. Please access. You will get more ideas.

Regards

Isai

Can you be more specific? Lots' of schools have nursing programs. What is unique about you? What is unique about your mission in life?

I chose to apply to the University of Central Florida because of its nursing program. Ever since I stepped foot into high school I knew that I wanted to become a nurse. and work in the medical field. All nurses do.

As I did my research on different schools that I would like to attend, UCF appeared to be the best one for me. Wasted sentence.

Knowing that the staff cares about its students, was even more of a reason for me to apply to this school.---All schools claim the staff cares.

Separate this into paragraphs, do not state the obvious, get rid of that obvious last sentence, and... figure out ONE KEY IDEA that is going to be planted in the reader's mind. What is YOUR unique theme? What is your vision?

:-) Welcome to EssayForum! I only criticize you so much because I care... I want to share the trick of writing an unforgettable essay!

I agree with Kevin. You need to be a lot more specific to write a strong essay.

In addition to looking over the website for the nursing school, consider talking to a few graduates of the program. They can tell you what the experience is really like and what is unique about the program. Be sure to ask those you speak with about the best parts of the program.

In nearly every case, people who are graduates of a school are glad to share their experiences with you and flattered to be asked, so you are likely to get a pretty warm reception when you explain that you are considering UCF nursing and want to know what their experience was like and what they liked best about the program. Take notes and send a thank you note to anyone who is willing to spend five or ten minutes answering your questions.

They might mention specific instructors, specific ways the instruction is delivered, etc. If you know the area of nursing that interests you, you can find graduates in that specialty and really get specific about what makes UCF's program unique.

Good luck,

Eric

I agree with Kevin.

That is a quality I admire in people! :-)

Well said! I bet a lot of people will benefit from reading this in the future. The applicants that STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD are the ones that have a special idea about what they want to contribute. It does not have to be a contribution that is the most amazing thing in the world, but it has to be based on your unique interests and talents.

The points mentioned in the latter posts are all very good. If I would make any change to your essay is putting the "why?" before the "what?". You want to appeal to the emotions before you state your desire. They are more likely to be attentive than if you jump straight to the point. Here are examples of what I mean: I want to make a change in my high school community, for that reason I would love to become senior class president ("why?" before "what?"). I would love to become senior class president, so I can make the change I want in my high school community ("what?" before "why?"). I feel like making this change could improve your essay. Just a suggestion.
