With the accelerating growth of urbanization, the development of civil construction has attracted more and more attention, especially in developing countries like china, which may face a urgent desideration of civil engineers. The programme offer me an opportunity to fulfill my dream, which provide me better education and studying atmosphere. I hope to have the opportunity to continue to Master and PhD.
Now I am a junior in Hunan University, in the last two and a half years, I was attending many courses, during these courses I found my talent undoubtedly lies in structure. Structural Mechanics, Theoretical Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials which I learned in my sophomore performance very good. I found it is so exciting when I finally know what layout of the building's structure is and how it is work to transmit the force to the foundation. Last semester, I received some preliminary specialized courses such as The Principle of Concrete Structure Design and The Principle of Steel Structure Design, it is the basis of my study this semester. I also learned Building Architecture and received a design training after it. Under the guidance of the teacher, I designed an apartment building with groundfloor is a shop, and a single industrial plant. Through this training, I learned a lot of knowledge and skills, I found it is very important to have your own idea and sense of innovation, the last but not least, before the drawing you should take layout into account, grasp the overall in case your drawing is not enough.(The subjects mentioned above can be found in the transcript)
As a sunny girl with great enthusiasm and intense interest in life, I developed my interests in a wide range of disciplines and audited many courses besides my major such as travel, computer and music. I do love traveling very much and have visited most part of China. I have not been to foreign countries and hope for the opportunity to go out and see. I have passed National Computer Rank Examination and got level 2 certificate. I like to play cucurbit flute, which is a free reed wind instrument of Chinese. It is held vertically and has three bamboo pipes which pass through a gourd wind chest; one pipe has finger holes and the other two are drone pipes.
Anyway, looking back at my campus life, I feel confident that I have fulfilled the education goal to my satisfaction. I love my work greatly, and I expect to advance my research career to acquire Master's degree.
