Cigarettes are really dangerous and can easily cause heart problems. The risk of getting heart diseases increase due to the amount of cigarette a person smokes. Smokers have a higher chance of getting a heart disease than non-smokers. "Smoking causes your arteries to narrow and harden - including the coronary arteries that run along the surface of the heart and deliver oxygen and nutrients to it"(Netdoctor,2012). This way, smokers have a high risk of getting a heart attack and cancer. Cigarettes cause lung, throat, mouth, and many other cancers. Smoking is really risky for the health of a pregnant women and her baby. The baby's brain and weight get affected, and the baby would also have a high risk of SID which stands for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
One of the cigarettes' disadvantages is its addiction. The tobacco that is in the cigarette naturally contain a substance called nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive substance that makes the smokers be addictive and can't stop smoking. Smoking addiction means continuous smoking and it will be hard for them to stop. This makes the smoker have a higher risk of getting cancer and other heart diseases. Addiction increases the amount of smoking, on the other hand, it increases the risk of dying. Being addictive makes people pay more money to buy cigarettes, and this is the companies' target. Once the smoker gets addicted it is really hard to quit!
The smoke of cigarettes doesn't only affect smokers, it unfortunately affects the people around in which they inhale the passive smoke, or also called the tobacco smoke. The passive smoke can also cause the non-smokers lung cancer, heart diseases, asthma, and respiratory diseases! Non-smokers also tend to die from heart diseases every year due to the exposure of tobacco smoke. The passive smoke is really risky nowadays because it is widespread in public places like malls, offices, restaurants, universities, buildings, and many other indoor public places. The passive smoke is really awful because it can easily affect the children and the sick patients. Why should others inhale the smokers' passive smoke?!
In conclusion, I strongly agree that cigarettes should be illegal. Cigarettes cause a lot of heart diseases, addiction, and unfortunately affect the non-smokers. The only benefit behind smoking cigarettes goes back to the companies that wants your money!
