Why Northwestern?

This is only the first three paragraphs of my essay. It's a very rough draft, I'm kind of stuck! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Students from around the United States, as well as the world, flock to Northwestern, looking to make new friends, learn new things, and most importantly, to get a great education. This wide-variety of students creates Northwestern's diverse learning environment which helps all students to grow both intellectually and socially. It has top-notch professors, a variety of different majors and minors, amazing student research programs and an extra-curricular activity for everyone, which is why Northwestern is a university that encompasses everything that I am looking for in a college.

At my current school I am extremely involved in a variety of extra-curricular activities. These activities range from yearbook to EARTH club and take up the majority of my free time. While in college, I would love to continue to pursue these activities, which is one of the reasons that I chose to apply to Northwestern. At Northwestern there is an activity for everyone and there are many clubs that would enjoy joining such as Operation Smile, Peace Project and Campus Kitchen. Aside from clubs, I would also love to get involved in the unique volunteer groups that Northwestern has. Participating in groups such as OASIS and the Northwestern Volunteer Connection would allow me to connect with fellow students who share the same vaules and feelings as myself.

Aside from the high-quality education and a wide array of extra-curricular activities, Northwestern also has amazing student research opportunities. The Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences allows students to participate in a variety of student internship and research programs. These programs range from being a professor's research assistant to studying abroad. After studying Spanish for five years, I would love to have the chance to study in a Spanish speaking country. This would help me to better my foreign language skills as well as helping me to expand my horizons and see the world. In my opinion, learning is not something that can simply be done in a classroom. To really learn you need to get involved and interact and explore the world around you, and Northwestern allows students to do this. Through Northwestern's unique reaseach oipputunities and Nobel Prize winning professors, I am sure that I would be able to receive a quality, hands on education that would challenge and stimulate me to be the best that I could be.

The whole first paragraph is so general that it could be said of almost any school. I recommend starting with that better stuff in paragraph 2, and then... see where it takes you.

Focus on your intellectual interests and professional intentions. Why is this school better than the other schools for someone with your specific intentions for the next 10 years?
