Prompt: What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field - such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities - and what you have gained from your involvement.

I am Korean and I have some curiosities about Japan. Korean and Japanese language are different, but not a few words are similar and even some words are same pronunciation. And culture of Korean and Japan has similar, but there are some cultural mindsets that I can't understand. Korea and Japan are located in a nearby country. My guess is that location is one of the reasons why both language and culture are similar. However, it is just pure speculation, so I want to know Japanese language and culture in more detail.

When I was a freshman in high school, I had to choose which language class I took. It was an educational policy of my school. Among the several language classes, I chose Japanese class with no definite idea because at that time, I had no mind to learn any second language. In the beginning of class, taking class was tiring and tedious. One day, a teacher have us a song of Japanese boy group. The song was very exhilaration. I looked the group up on the Internet and I became a fan of them. Since that day, I have bought their album CD, concert DVD, and watch their drama. After ending of the class, I have kept doing until now. As a result, I have become to speak Japanese. I only learned Japanese for 9 months. It is a miracle that I can speak Japanese. Maybe the reason why I can do is that the word order of Korean is similar with that of Japanese. When I didn't know Japanese, it was totally different language with Korean. However, now I sometimes confused which is Korean or Japanese when the word is simple.

After getting interested in the Japanese boy group, I joined Japanese culture club in high school. Main activities in the club are description the story and feeling after watching Japanese drama or animation each other and compared the difference between sentiment of Korea and Japan. When school festival, our club members wore a kimono which is Japanese traditional cloth and then made simple Japanese cookies, and tea and sold them to school students with the description of Japanese culture. Through the times, I could contact the little part of Japanese culture and a lot of Japanese language. Frankly speaking, I didn't have any interesting in Japan even I didn't like Japan because of a historic events. My only concern was the boy group. However, after joining club, I realized that it is getting to know other culture is good one and then I changed the viewpoint about Japan and also I got a wider field of view when I contact other culture.

I want to know Japan more detail. To do that, I need more information about Japan. However, I am not good at Japanese. I can't read and writing Japanese because of Chinese letter. I can just hearing and speaking. I think that I must to know if I want to know a culture of a country.

I am international student so I have a lot of grammar error in here. Please chenk the contents and grammar error (specially the article..)

I am Korean and I have some curiosities about Japan.

... When you say Japan it is a much broader definition in which the language is a tiny part. If you are interested in Japan in every aspect, it is fine :)

I am Korean, yet I am very much interested in learning about Japan and Japanese language.

Korean and Japanese language are different, but not a few words are similar and even some words are same pronunciation.

Korean and Japanese languages are different, however, they share some closeness; not only there are a few similar words but also some words have the same pronunciation.
