Grade 10 applying for Shad program. Describe your best experience working as a leader or working in a group or team. 2500characters.
Appreciate feedback~ :D

Extra curricular activities are required as we move on from elementary to secondary school, so being included in a meaningful organization was what I, who was a grade niner, wished for. Considering I was like a baby duck who stepped onto a huge, foreign land of Canada for three years only, I decided to join International Student Association. It is a group I was confident that I could return and show my appreciation to people who lend out a hand when I had language difficulties during these three years. Our goal was to support the English Language Learners and preach the multicultural society we had in Canada.

I could still immediately recall the best event from the association activities. The executive members welcomed the grade eight ELL students with a bright smile to visit their future school. As I approached I could feel my excited heart pumping inside the ocean blue ISA t-shirt. Two girls followed me as I was a mother duck. I guided them and presented the school from the surface to the core, while digging out the friendly sides hidden under their shy faces. We discovered a skeleton in science hallway, the bulldog school mascot, and a prosperous tree with splashes of coloured leaves; an oak tree that represents the diversity in my school. Slowly, loud chatters from our little group were heard in the wide hallway. As the investigation progresses, I saw reflections of me. The welcome from the ISA executives opened these young immigrants' solid hearts and transformed into responsive excitements, just like other Canadians. This welcome-grade-eight activity significantly proved my hypothesis that immigrants need supports and guides to continue their studies. After a year, I recognized a familiar individual. It was one of my girls. She found friends and was well mixed in Canadian culture, like me.

This was an experiment I will never forget. It ensured I have developed from needing help to help the needs. Some native students might discriminate because of the ELL background; therefore it is very important for us to be ready to remove the thorns on the path of success. This natural humanity of helping others had led me to this organization in the beginning of grade nine, but due to the personal issues, I'm not currently in ISA. However I wished to continue depicting my love and supports to newcomers.

I think this does not provide much value to your response. They do not wish to know obvious theory, but want to know more about you. Come quickly to relate to the point what experience made you a leader.

Considering I was like a baby duck who stepped onto a huge, foreign land of Canada for three years only, I decided to join International Student Association.

You can polish this sentence and can have as the hook of your response. This reveals about yourself and they'd be interested to read this sentence. Also, tell what you aimed by joining this association.

Feeling about myself as a baby duck who stepped on the huge, foreign land of Canada just for a stay of three years, i decided to join the International Student Association in view of adapting myself into this new and challenging environment.
