Many times in life, I have been appreciated for my thirst of knowledge. While most students studied to score marks and pass their examinations, I, on the other hand always wanted to learn more, even if it was beyond my current curriculum. This particular quality of mine has not only helped me in my academics, but also made me more passionate and inquisitive towards Science. With this attitude, I believe anybody can overcome even the most strenuous situations with ease.

From my childhood, computers have fascinated me. While performing basic functions on the computer seemed like an everyday affair to most, to me the working of a computer had its own beauty and grace, it was like watching poetry in motion. At the age of nine, I realized what I wanted to become - "A Software Engineer". I knew that the road to my dream would not be grassy and I would be better off helping my dad with his business, but I wanted to achieve something that had only my name on it. Over the years, my eagerness and ardor towards computers has enabled me to learn things that are way above the standard of my peers .

A lot has changed over the years, internet has taken over a substantial part of our lives and has invaded our homes and workplaces, computers suddenly have become more important than anyone ever imagined them to become. They have become more powerful and efficient and the software that drives them, more refined and stunning. It's like watching a tableau, a spectacle beyond the ordinary. Sometimes, I think these brilliant creators are always trying to amaze us with what they can achieve with these plastic boxes, going beyond the ordinary or the imaginable.

Other than attending my high school computer-oriented classes, I have also done many computer-oriented courses like C++ and animation. I am familiar with the functioning of computers and I am prepared to overcome any obstacles that come in the pursuit of my dream. While times have changed my zeal for computers hasn't. Over the years I have created many webpages for my friends and have tried my hand at some basic java programs. My most memorable experience would be learning PHP overnight and then creating a website for my friend's company. Watching something, which is a result of your imagination, creativity and hard work exhilarates me. It sets my pulses racing and ignites a fire in me like nothing else does. My ample experience in computers enabled me to get a perfect score in my CBSE Board Examinations.

My utopian vision of a career has always been a job that involves ingenuity, innovation and flexibility. I am confident that higher education would give me the desired push towards a career in programming and an opportunity to do well in my chosen field of interest.

I want to contribute to the world of computer technology and I believe Cornell will prepare me for overcoming the obstacles which I will face as a computer programmer.

I believe it's the right college for my education.

Engineers turn ideas (technical, scientific, mathematical) into reality. Tell us about an engineering idea you have or your interest in engineering. Explain how Cornell Engineering can help you further explore this idea or interest. I believe this is the topic.

I'm not sure if you've really answered it to be honest. I think you can cut back on the first and second paragraphs, and really focus on answering the topic. I like the third, sort of build from there and show how Cornell can help you continue pursuing your passion. List clubs or organizations that you'd like to get involved in at Cornell; really show that you belong there and that they have no choice but to choose you over thousands of applicants.

I think that this could be a much stronger essay.

Even I agree to this...Cutting down on the first and second paragraphs would work...Its not the best beginning for the answer to the question asked herein....but as I said before emphasise on Cornell and how you think its the best fit for you....
