The world of studies has always captivated me. What makes it so exciting is that it gives a unique opportunity to explore the environment, to learn new facts about various interesting fields and to make unforgettable discoveries about things and people that surround you.

To begin with, I have been raised in Moscow - the city that has a great background and history. Owing to it from early childhood I was exposed to many remarkable sights and cultural places. I have visited almost all museums, theatres, picture galleries and monuments that can be found in this magnificent city. Apart from investigating national attractions I have always admired foreign cultures. As my family and I travelled a lot, I could have appreciated the values of other countries, which definitely gave me a broad outlook. Moreover, as we usually stayed in many countries for quite a long period of time, I could have gotten deeper knowledge about each particular country's peculiarities, traditions and customs. For instance, as we stayed in Israel for nearly one and a half of a year and I merely started to consider this country my second home.

This passion for travelling is partly caused by my truly love for languages. Besides English language, which is my favorite, I also enjoy French, Hebrew and Italian. The last one I started to learn in Italy as we usually spend summer there and this sunny and picturesque country has naturally charmed me.

In addition to languages my hobbies represent a mixture of different occupations. In my childhood I took keen interest in almost everything: I played tennis, badminton, skated, rode horses, sang in a chorus, played the piano, took pictures of nature, read books, danced, swam and wrote poetry. However, as grew up and my school studies became more intensive, I realized that I have to narrow down my list of activities and choose only hobbies that attract me most of all. I chose to play tennis and to draw. Still it doesn't mean that I have cut down all my other hobbies entirely as I continue to take them occasionally, in order not to worsen my studies.

Speaking about studies, it is worth mentioning that school plays a great role in my life. Along with classes, I take part in different extracurricular activities. Playing in a school theatre did improve my artistry and taught me to speak on public. A great amount of team projects and presentations developed my skills of working in a team and persuading people of my points of view. I have also been a tutor of our class team on Journalism Festival where we created our own newspaper and took part in Science Conference about exploration of the outer space.

As for my future goals I am really interested in making our world better, especially concerning the environment. I suppose that our planet is a reflection of ourselves, thus it should be clean and unpolluted. Moreover, my friends and I have already arranged various projects in this field and we are not yet to give it up. I am also aimed at reducing the computer addiction on young people as this problem is getting more and more severe and should be definitely taken into account.

All in all, I reckon that my short statement has a little bit raised the curtain of the world I live in, of the things that interest me and has persuaded you to consider me as an applicant to your University.
