Statement of Purpose for accounting intern; 'computers as a hobby'

I needed to write approx 500 words answering these questions:

What are your areas of interest? Describe your education and career goals.
How do your career goals relate to your education goals?
What type of work experience would you like to gain as it relates to your career and educational goals?

I'm just looking for opinions on what makes my answers strong or weak so I can adjust them accordingly, thanks!!

My answers:

Initially I had planned on going to school for an associate's degree in computer electronics, but quickly realized that loved computers as a hobby alone. Fortunately for me this was early in my college career and I decided to speak to the business advisor at Kenai Peninsula College, Thomas Dalrymple. Tom sold the accounting profession to me in a unique way; his approach is as much philosophical as academic. His enthusiasm was contagious, and I knew then I had found my calling. Everything seemed to be a perfect fit; I could still work with and utilize my affinity for computers and technology and the profession offers stability and extensive opportunities for progression. Accounting also plays to my strengths as an analytical and logical thinker. The profession also appealed to me at a basic level; the pillars that form the basic structure are deeply rooted in philosophical concepts that I try to embody in my everyday life like accountability, transparency, and equity.

Without a specific position in mind, the most rational step was to think about what title would allow me to fulfill and explore the widest range of positions. I decided then that being a Certified Public Accountant would be my goal and began my journey to fulfill it. My educational goals are driven by the career goal I have set; I need to hold a bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting and have 150 semester hours to be certified. However, I do not see myself stopping my education at the minimum requirements. I plan to double major, and attain a bachelor's degree in finance as well as accounting to supplement my skill set. Graduate school is another long term goal that I have in mind. The term "life-long student" could describe my educational goals, as I never plan to stop my education whether it is in a classroom or on the job.

Any practical experience I could gain related to the field would be incredibly valuable this early in my education and professional career. It will help me not only understand and relate to my studies but provide invaluable familiarity and practice applying my knowledge in a working environment. Creating these associations now between my studies and a tangible functioning setting can only serve to reinforce my resolve to attain my goals both in my career and my education. I hope to create lasting relationships with people that will be mutually beneficial and if possible apply my knowledge and skills where they will valuable to the forces that helped me to attain them.

My educational goals are driven by the career goal I have set ;---Perfect!--- I need to hold

I hope to create lasting relationships with people, relationships that will be mutually beneficial and if possible apply my knowledge and skills where they will valuable to the forces that helped me to attain them.---This sentence is a little confusing. You could revise for clarity by breaking it into 2 sentences.

:)
