What are the unique qualities of Northwestern - and of the specific undergraduate school to which you are applying - that make you want to attend the University? In what ways do you hope to take advantage of the qualities you have identified?

still writing ending any ideas?

I waited for about 4 minute, before answering the question. . Before we embarked on our college search as a junior, counselors conducted meetings with sophomores to get our general idea on college and what we hoped to pursue.

" So what are you looking for in your dream college?"
It was sophomore year in high school and prior to this conversation I never thought about the logistics of college. I reasoned it was due to the lack of college graduates in my family. Nevertheless, college has always been in my game plan and although my parents didn't have much experience with the matter, they had high expectations for me. I frantically began to take the likes and dislikes of my time in school and concocted a hasty list that proved to be the most honest of all my opinions regarding college.

Good teachers, opportunities and freedom
This list from years ago led me to Northwestern's impeccable attributes that not only match perfectly to my desires in a university but that I also compliment Northwestern's unique qualities.

I enjoyed a plethora of raw materials unmatched by other public schools in the region, with an interactive and intelligent staff and a supportive community. I knew that I wanted a school that could offer the tools for me to excel, in which the University of Northwestern possessed. I admired Northwestern's incredible faculty, with their field experience and personal approach to learning. Teachers are gatekeepers of knowledge. Teachers greatly impacted me throughout my life and helped me ponder subjects that I never found interesting or relevant. I hope that I will be inspired by professors at the university to ask questions and to act on them. With a 7 to 1 ratio, Northwestern allows me to familiarize myself with a professor's teaching style as I process the information, and most importantly, ask questions. I describe myself as curious and I wanted a nurturing experience with mentors that encourage my interests and guide me on the appropriate path without squashing my aspirations.

Aside from the professors The University Career Center at Northwestern and the city of Evanston bring a unique quality to Northwestern. I believed in a hand on approach to working experience and the career center is the perfect place for a student to gain valuable internships and work experience with notable companies, many of which are alumnus. I don't want to just learn the lessons, but actually have the chance to use those skills. Even though Evanston is a small suburb, Chicago is just a short drive away, making opportunities accessible to Northwestern students. The university's location has the best of both worlds because it has a cozy traditional college atmosphere, while offering a bustling city life nearby. Northwestern seems to be a place where there are a range of activities and interests that one can pursue without the harkening of others.

Northwestern has so many choices that I never experienced in the educational life. Students can personalize their own curriculum in the quarter system. Up until now, I experienced a stifling systematic schedule based on other's assumptions of what an education should be. I adamantly wanted a university that is flexible and has range of interesting courses. My interests peaked when hearing my presenters many concentrations and extracurricular activities. I didn't want to feel confined in college and hone in on my niches and preferences.

I believed in a hands-on approach

many of which are alumni

My interests piqued when hearing my presenters' many concentrations and extracurricular activities.

I would double check my revisions but I'm pretty sure they are correct

Read my essay too please!!!! Its for UChicago
