The hardworking and successful person - UCF application

Why did you choose to apply to UCF? "The University of Central Florida is one of the best universities to go to if majoring in a field of Engineering. As an undergraduate who wants to be an engineer, I know UCF would be the best school to attend and graduate from. I have always been interested in the mechanics of how vehicles, watches, computers, and others have functioned but more on how they were made. I am applying to UCF because I know that it would be a challenge in which I am surely ready to undertake and will fulfill. I will complete this challenge by taking difficult classes in my senior year and be a part of extracurricular activities. I also applied for UCF because I know I can go there for cheap especially after the Bright Futures scholarship and other grants. Why wouldn't anyone from Florida go to a recognized University where they can live on campus and not have to pay nearly as much as a student from out of state? Last week in one of my classes a women that was part of the Tech Prep program presented a slide show, it showed how much more expensive it was to go to college for a student out of state then for a student in state. There really is no good reason why I would not apply to the University of Central Florida, My University of choice above all others."

How has your family history, culture or environment influence who you are? "My family environment sure has made me the person I am today. Out of a family of six I am the oldest of the four children who I am a role model for. As a role model of one little sister and two little brothers who have grown up to be beautiful people. I am the leader that they follow and have taught them how to be a respectful leader of their own lives. They now take their rigorous courses in school and they all attend in extracurricular activities. Within this family environment throughout my life we have brought up many dogs. As the leader I would get all of us to pull together and feed, walk, and bathe the dogs. As my parents who struggle through their hard times due to this recent economical crises, has encouraged me to go out there and get my education. I help my parents by getting everyone in the house to help keep the house clean so when they come home from work they can sit down and watch the presidential debates in peace...well somewhat peace. This family environment is what made me Jared Figueroa the hardworking and successful person."
