Why I want to stransfer and the objectives I want to achieve.
I study in UCBA-a community college of UC. If I want to transfer to the main campus of UC the process of transfer is easy and fast. So UC may be a good choice to community college students like me; it's not the best choice to me, however. Rather than transfer to UC, I prefer to transfer to another university which has an excellent education in business area. There are three main reasons can help me explain why I want to transfer to another university. These three reasons are: academic level, academic environment and the limit of community college.
Academic level is the first thing I think a lot. My major is Pre-Business and I want to be an accounting student in the future. At the same time, I want to be a marketing student either. In this way, I can be a double-major student. And therefore, a great business school, which provides excellent education in business field, can benefit me a lot. In addition, since I am a student who wants to achieve pretty high level in the academic field a great business school may help me more than I can imagine. Unfortunately, the business school of UC cannot satisfy me. I did some researches before I make the decision that I transfer to another university. As the business school rank list from US news shows, the business school of UC is 78th in America area. Since the rank list is evaluated by the academic level of the university this rank shows the business school of UC does not have an academic environment and a good academic level. Due to the ordinary academic level I need a better business school to help me improve myself. Academic level is important to me; whereas, academic environment is also essential to me.
The academic environment of the business school of UC is another important reason I want to transfer to another university. As many of my friends who study in UC say, the business school of UC has no a good academic environment. Since the courses are pretty easy most of the students can pass final exam easily. Although they cannot earn a great GPA in the exam they do not care a lot about that. It results students from this business school does not study hard. What is more, beer and skittles is more popular than study in this business school. I am not willing to be a party school student, so I want to transfer.
The limit of community college is also the thing I have to consider As I know, community college normally provides one to two years' study. After at most two years' study, students can choose to gain an associate degree or transfer to another university to seek for a bachelor degree. I have studied most of the courses I can take in UCBA so I must transfer to another university to continue my study.
Due to these three reasons: academic level, academic environment and degree problem, I decide to transfer to another university.
After finish talking about why I want to transfer, I would like to talk something about the objectives I want to achieve after I transfer to another university. Since my major will be accounting I want to do something to be a good accountant after I graduate from university. High GPA, CPA, good people skills and volunteer works are the goals I want to achieve.
GPA is the first goal to me. I need to keep a great GPA to ensure my academic level is pretty high. By showing my high GPA I can let interviewers know that I am eligible to be a good accountant. to keep a great GPA, I need to work very hard. I will cut down the work time and increase my study time. Then I will treat library as my second home since I will spend most of my time there. Additionally, I will communicate actively with professors. As we know, professors are the best guiders in my study. Their high academic level and rich experience can benefit us a lot. Study hard and communicate actively, in these two ways, I will achieve a high GPA.
To be a good accountant, do well in people skills is essential either. Weather accountants are working in public or corporate accounting, they do not work alone. A good accountant must have a good people skills. To do well in people skills, I will read some books related to people skills area. After that, I may join some clubs associate with people skills. I will try to use these skills when I communicate with others and observe the expression of the one I talk with; then, I will conclude my performance. After hundreds of times try I definitely will find the most efficient way for me.
