Chemistry, politics, and art have sparked my interest in High school. These three subjects are what intrigue, excite, and bring out my curiosity. Chemistry showed me a world at a particulate level, where the split of one atom's nucleus can set off a chain reaction producing energy tantamount to an atomic bomb. Politics gave me an understanding of how our political ideologies can lead to a revolution. Art brings me relaxation as I release my imagination on paper. These three subjects are what appealed to me most from my High School experience. However, I want more. My appetite for knowledge has yet to be satisfied. I want a University that can further challenge me and cultivate my knowledge. I want a University that welcomes a student who doesn't just focus on learning through academics, but also focuses on learning through experience of traveling the world. The University of Michigan's college of Literature, Sciences, and the Arts is an ideal fit for what I want from a University.
With the requirement of having to take foreign language, social and natural science(, - DELETE PUNCTUATION MARK) and humanities along with your concentration, the LSA plan promises to be both challenging and beneficial. This plan will provide me with a broader range of knowledge. I will not be exposed only to courses that go with my major, but also other courses that will mold me into a well rounded student. Furthermore the LSA can further broaden my knowledge through the opportunities and experiences it provides. One such opportunity is being able to study abroad with fellow University of Michigan students through the Center for Global and Intercultural Study. Getting the opportunity to leave your comfort zone and explore the world while getting to know different customs and cultures sounds like a thrilling and great experience. These aspects of the University of Michigan's college of LSA are what make this University extremely appealing to me. The LSA will provide me an opportunity of finding what I want to be in the future through all the experiences it provides. Furthermore the LSA will better prepare me for the future.
