Acceptance essay to the Illinois Art Institute of Chicago

How do you expect your education at The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago to help you attain your career?

Ever since I was a kid I had two passions, music and photography. When I was only nine years old I wrote my own songs but I never knew how to put music to them. Ever since I can remember I loved taking pictures, but I didn't know how to capture the beauty of my subjects. I want to study both of these fields and have a career in at least one if not both. Now I'm entering my final year of high school. Even though I have leaned a lot more about my passions and how to get better at them, I still need to learn so much more.

That's where The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago comes in. From what I have heard/seen, the hands on education Ai offers will help shape and mode my career. I expect hard challenges to be thrown at me to test not only my artistic ability but my problem solving ability as well. I expect to learn how the business of my fields work and how to approach them. I hope to learn skills, by employees, that will help me in my career. To attain a career in the fields I want I will also need buissness skills that I expect to obtain at Ai. With a great work/study environment such as Ai offers, I'm sure to attain vital knowledge and skills that pertain to my fields.

For me Ai is different than any other college or institute. When I went to the open house at Ai, I felt like I was at home. I felt accepted, like I actually belong there. No other college can do that for me. When I'm in the building I feel safe. I feel this is where I belong and this is where my career will grow.

I'm quiet fascinated with your passion for two challenging paths, I must say you're one brave and extraordinary soul, when most students would go for science, math and normal courses, you go for the arts. Well, good luck!!!

On your letter however, I can't say it's strong enough to grant you an acceptance to AI, I suggest you boost your letter by detailing your strength on the chosen course and let them know how you can contribute to the institution.

thank you justivy03! that was very helpful. how should i detail my strengths though? im not even sure what they are. i also dont know how im suppose to contribute to the institution. the essay is also only suppose to be 300 words
