Well scientifically, after the age of I think 17 or 18 (off the top of my head, sorry), brain development makes it a lot harder to become fluent in a language. But it is still DEFINITELY possible and happens all the time. In an era in which many towns have more immigrants than natives, many adults are forced to adjust and adapt to the American lifestyle.

So my answer would be YES. Anyone can learn a second language, if it wasn't true then people wouldn't be mixing so well.

Well, I wouldn't say practice makes perfect but practice definitely gives better result and makes you more familiar with the action/subject. For example, those people who make hand-made candies. They are really good at doing it and make making candies look like an art. That comes from years of doing the act of making candies, almost everyday they would do the same thing over and over again till a point you would think they can do it with their eyes closed.

As for adult learning a new language, I do believe that as you get older, it's harder for you to actually speak like a native. However, it is possible for you to master the grammar, the vocabulary and understand the language as good as a native speaker. It is easier if you are in an environment where people around you speak that language 24/7, there are researchs that said when you listen to a language everyday in your life, even if you don't understand it at first, it'll slowly get to you. In the researchs, none of them mention about an age limit.

Well I think anything is possible with hard work and determination.
One can learn any language so long as they are interested, and
are willing to practice, practice, and of course practice.

I think it's harder because of the business we had, but definitely doable

It is not uncommon for high level executives and travelling employees to learn a second, third, or even fourth language there days. It is a professional advantage for these adults who most often learn the language using apps while applying what they learned on the job. This type of practice makes it much easier for them to develop the language skills. It is not impossible for adults to learn any number of languages. It is even easier for them to become more fluent since their work scenarios allow them to practice their developing language skills. This is where the practice makes perfect reference comes in. It is actually easier for the adults to engage in practice scenarios with native speakers than it is for high school or college level language learners because of the exposure and immersion needs of language study.

It is not accurate to say that "practice doesn't make perfect," as practice is often an important part of achieving proficiency in a skill. However, it is important to note that simply practicing something does not guarantee perfection. Other factors, such as the quality of the practice and the individual's natural aptitude for the skill, can also play a role in the level of proficiency achieved.

As for the second statement, "Can adults learn a second language," the answer is generally yes. While it may be easier for children to learn a second language due to their brains being more receptive to language learning, adults can also learn a second language with the right approach and motivation. Research has shown that the most effective methods for language learning involve frequent and consistent practice, immersion in a language-rich environment, and the use of meaningful and relevant material. With these approaches, adults can successfully learn a second language.

Practice does make perfect. If we commit to achieve what we want, I think it is possible for us to get it.

As for the second question, I believe that we are never too late to learn. So, the answer is yes.

I would say some sophisticated works is not suitable for the principle "practise makes perfect", becuase it requires some techiniques. Though, some repeated jobs can surely practise makes perfect as you are familiar with it with more practises.

Besides this, of course adults can learn a second language, it never too late to learn.
