Hi all
I am applying to 8ivies, stanford, chicago, duke, northwestern, michigan, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Wisconsin Madison, UIUC
I apply early to UIUC.
What are my chances of getting into them?
I have a 2340 composite score for SAT1 (770CR 770M 800Wrt). I took it twice though, 2240 the first time and 2310 the second.
My scores for SAT2 is 790Math Lvl2, 770Chem, 730Physics, 740Math Level1.
I also have an unweighted GPA of 4.1 (out of 5), and i got "5"s in AP Calc BC, Stats, Physics B and Chem.
I also published a scientific journal paper and a conference paper, having attended a few of the international conferences.
Leadership wise, i have been the vice captain of my school's table tennis team since 9th Grade and the class CIP Interactor, who is in charge of organizing community service programs.
Hmm, i also got a Bronze Medal in the National Mathematical Olympiad.

Well, no one can say for sure. But I'd say you have a pretty great chance. I think you'd stand out with your accomplishments stated above. Have you posted your essays? I can't seem to find them.
You have leadership, sports, academics, volunteer work, annnd good sat scores. Of course you have a good chance! unless, of course, your essay completely suck.

You have pretty good chance actually! I'm sure you'll stand out with your accomplishments, but now just work on your essays :).
Those are great accomplishments! I think you have a very good shot, especially regarding your SAT scores.
hmm. i have concerns over my GPA though.
nail the essay, which i'm sure you will as you seem a competent person, and you'll make a really competitive application.

You seem to have a pretty good shot. Make sure you have good safeties where you will be happy attending. Your scores and grades are in range. Just talk about your passions and make yourself standout in the admissions process!
Wow i am a junior and just took my first real SAT at the beginning of the month and hope i get similar scores. In my opinion it doesn't matter how many AP classes you are taking it depends how good you are doing in them and also you may be part of many organizations but what counts its the quality time you spend on them. It looks like you are competitive for Ivy League schools and will be doing great in college with all the prep work from the AP classes. Lol and like you i suck at writing essays, did you take SAT prep-classes?

nope i did not take any SAT prep class.
Idk what exactly my safeties are, but I doubt I would want to attend UIUC, Wisconsin-Madison, UCLA and Washington St Louis.
The other unis are fine. But if I have no other choice, then yea at least UIUC already accepted me.
For your essays you should get your English teacher or any other teacher to edit them. My counselor always tells me that when I write my essays I should give my essay to someone I know and ask them if it sounds like me, then give it to a teacher that i don't know and at the end ask him or her what they learn about me. If they answer what you wanted , you did a good job... i don't know i make sense but you should try it. It has work for me in scholarship essays...
