Essay Question 1: Why do you want to become a CPA and how will attaining this licensure contribute to your goals? How do you plan to become a licensed CPA (500 word max)

Accounting was not my first academic major in college-it was math. However, my instructor Ms. Amy Smith 101 accounting course forever changed my career path. My instructor's passion for accounting and teaching style inspired me to declare accounting as my major and pursue a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

The flexibility of the accounting field attracted me to become a CPA. CPA's are afforded many career opportunities in auditing, governmental accounting and forensic accounting. They may work for a small local firm or even one of the Big 4 accounting firms. With a degree in accounting, I knew that I would be afforded a career and support myself.

CPA's must be well rounded in dissecting financial information, providing solutions to everyday problems, and developing strategies for company's growth and development. Becoming a CPA would allow me to develop my Cura Personalis-or develop the whole person. Through the profession, I will be able to gain knowledge in many areas of accounting and collaborate with other accounting professionals to speak the language of business and establish rules for accounting transactions.

In addition to being well rounded, CPA's are well respected within companies and organizations. To become a CPA requires extensive studying, experience, and the CPA examination. With a high level of respect and morality, I can provide better services to my organization and clients.

Lastly, becoming a CPA will allow me to give back to society. I can provide services for local churches and organizations. My CPA credentials will protect the organizations and churches from losing money as well as improve internal controls, budgets, and allocation of funds.

I plan to become a CPA after completing Nowhere State University Masters of Accountancy program. The structured program will challenge me inside the classroom as well as further my understanding of accounting. In addition, the program design will prepare me for the CPA exam and ensure that I have the required 150 semester hours to sit for the exam. After completing the Masters of Accountancy program, I will further my career with the State of Nowwhere as an accountant with the hope of eventually opening my accounting firm and providing auditing services.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) scholarships for minority students will remove the financial burden of graduate school. Hours spent on ways to afford graduate school can be applied to teaching society about what CPA's do. Not only will the scholarship finance my tuition, fees, books and course materials, but also the scholarships will fiancé the growth and development of minorities in the CPA profession.

I really need help with this. I feel that I don't answer the question. I want to be CPA because of job diversity, giving to others, and because I love auditing and looking at where companies spend money. The hard part is trying to put this in words :(. I fill like I'm saying what everyone else is saying and I want to stand out to receive the scholarship. Please review this and give honest details and opinions about how to improve this. Also Nowhere is used so I won't reveal the location/state I live in. Thanks and have a blessed day.

If given the opportunity to serve as an AICPA Legacy Scholar, I would develop T.A.T.S (Teaching Accounting To Students) for college students and young adults. Volunteer work and service projects would allow T.A.T.S to work with Certified Public Accountants (CPA's) and stress to students the importance of building money management skills, planning for retirement, and tackling student loan and credit card debt.

Today, many students face financial problems due to a lack of money management skills. Financial problems can ruin living standards, paying off debt, and planning for retirement. Thus, T.A.T.S would conduct accessible workshops on college campuses whose focus would be on monthly budgeting, building an emergency fund, paying off debt, and saving for retirement. Students would be given necessary tools to prepare monthly budgets according to their personal finances, eliminate debt with paying more than the required balance and experience the effects of not preparing for retirement. Workshops would be interactive sessions with monopoly money. Students will be assigned different within different career fields. Students will be given different monthly bills that they will have to create a monthly budget. Some students will fall short due to excessive dining out, vacations, and entertainment. This will show students areas where budgets will need to be cut to survive. Once students build better money management skills, they will be able to live better, retire comfortably, and help others achieve success.

In addition, T.A.T.S would encourage students to network with CPA's. The program would allow students to speak one-on-one with established CPA's and share their concerns, expectations, and fears of one day becoming a CPA. In return, CPA's can direct students to scholarships, jobs, and address any personal concerns. students may ask CPA's why they choose to become a CPA, how they prepared for the CPA examination, and what field of accounting do they work in. This will allow students to build their professional career network, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.

In addition to T.A.T.S, I would reach out to under privileged high school students. While the S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field has expanded, few high school students know about the possibilities of a career as a Certified Public Accountant. I would encourage students to learn more about the word of accounting. I would talk with students about accounting job diversity, career outlook, college programs, scholarships, and the steps to become a CPA.

Becoming a legacy scholar, will allow me to give back to the community I reside in. Someone helped me achieve my dreams of attending college, graduating, and pursuing a career as a Certified Public Accountant. I want to build students interest in the accounting field and inspire them to give back as well. The children of today are our future tomorrow. (454 words)

The second post is my second essay. If selected as an AICPA scholarship receipt you will serve as an AICPA Legacy Scholar. I have to describe how I would spread the message about accounting and the CPA profession in your community and school. Thanks

I feel this essay contains good mechanics, ideas, and vocabularies ;D

speak one-on-one (noun)

speak one-on-one/ face-to-face communication

Becoming a legacy scholar, will allow me to give back to the community I reside in

you don't need to separate the subject and predicate with a comma.
