Evaluating one's progress in life is very important. The desire to be better than what I am at the moment is my greatest motivating force to always strive forward. It is this strong inner drive for growth that has influenced my decision to go for doctoral studies. During my under graduate and post-graduate study, I developed a strong interest in molecular Biology, specifically in areas like how small molecules viz., the transcription factors, the kinases etc. act and control the key events in gene regulation and in signal transduction. These studies kindled interest to switch over to mammalian systems where specific regulating elements can be silenced by different mechanisms and bring cure to dreadful diseases.

I feel that one should never compromise on the quality of education. My long term interests include finishing my Ph.D. and then work for a research institution that is a part of a university and/or hospital. In this context, I should be frank enough to place on record that I need financial support for continuing in the research field and satisfy my strong academic desires. It is for this valid reason, that I wish to submit myself as an applicant with a hope that it be awarded, I can support myself and my dependents during the period of study far away from my home, essential to keep me away from distractions from the set goals. Research in molecular biology has several unanswered questions and I would like to be one among several people working towards the answers. I strongly believe that I have the commitment and stamina to achieve significantly and contribute a bit to the betterment of man kind especially those suffering from endless physical and mental torture. Your fellowship will provide me with the best opportunity to become a productive member of society while making use of my intellectual talents in a career that I expect to be constantly challenging and fulfilling.

undergraduate is one word so is postgraduate and I think you mean "studies" not study
