Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apply for the XXXX Program. I believe my motivation can be better illustrated by my studies, professional experience and a genuine interest in the development of third world economies. I have a growing need to take an active role in the strategies to develop them.
I hold a four-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the UNI (Universidad Argentina). During my studies, thanks to the UNI exchange program, I had the opportunity to attend to Mannheim Universität. During my 6 months stay in Germany, I got to meet people from all over the world, attend classes from world-class professors and got to know an amazing country. It was a very rewarding time, which gave me a whole new perspective on life and of course on my career.
Back in Argentina, in 2006, I was selected by ACN Consulting to take part in a new project, the opening a Global Finance Service Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since this was a pilot, it was a very interesting project to take part in. I had to deal regularly with unexpected situations, this definitely enhanced my flexibility and my adaptation skills. Plus, it was a great experience to deal with the UK and Germany offices on a daily basis and with excellent professionals from all over the world. I really enjoyed the international aspects of this job. After Accenture, I worked in other multinational companies, as you can see in the CV that I enclose, at the Norwegian YYYY, and at the N° 1 toys company, ZZZZ.
These professional experiences have been very rewarding and educational. I have learned to deal with several challenges and have deepened my knowledge on the discipline that I've studied. However, I've always been interested in the social aspects of economics and businesses, and that is why, after serious consideration and research, I've decided to re- focus my career.
During 2011 I have done an important shift. I have immersed myself in the subject, by taking a postgraduate course in Local Development and Social Economics, at FLAC University. With this course, I've deepened my personal and academic knowledge of economic development.
In 2012, after my studies, I've started working in the Buenos Aires city government, at the Modernization ministry. The ministry's tasks are completely transversal, which gives me an integral view of the different areas of public administration and the government. Plus, most of it's actions have a direct impact on citizenship. One of its main objectives is to push cultural change in the public administration and to improve the processes towards a more efficient organization. It is an amazing experience to work both for the government and for the citizens of Buenos Aires.
It is my personal mission to work in pursuit sustainable development and optimization of resources in my country, as the only way to achieve long-term economic growth. I am applying to the MA in International and Development Economics at the WWW Berlin, because I strongly believe that these studies can help me achieve my goal. The XXXX is a very interesting studies program, with a wide range of courses such as political, economic, social and historic subjects which enrich the program. Moreover, the fact that the XXXX programme is taught at the WWW, a German institution, is very appealing to me. I consider the German development a great example of the effect of good will, determination, hard work and efficiency. This factor definitely highlights the XXXX program among others and makes the learning process much more interesting.
Ideally, once I get my MA degree, I would like to return to Argentina to work at an international organization, such as the Inter American Development Bank, the World Bank, or at the local government. Furthermore, given my experience in mentoring at "Fundación Impulsar" an organization that grants loans to young entrepreneurs, I've become really attracted to the idea of teaching, so, it would be most appealing to pursue an academic career, teaching at a university.
Based on this, the XXXX is exactly the type of program I would like to join. Conducting these Master studies and research within the WWW would improve and increase my knowledge and practical experience towards my mission.
Thank you very much for considering my application and I look forward to joining your team.
Yours Sincerely,
