Psteele 1 / - Oct 19, 2014 #1Hey guys! I`m applying for scholarships, and I have to write a short essay on the prompt above, "Describe your financial challenge". I don`t know whats going to over due it, or make it sound like a sob story. Can anyone help?? I`ll post a small summary about myself, and what I am thinking of including! Thank you in advanced for any help supplied!I am an 18 year old single mom, chasing after my dream of being in the medical field as a nurse. Currently -until I get on my feet- my only income is from the state, $385 a month. My mom does not support me financially, hence all of that money goes to items my son needs. Maintaining school full time, and a new baby on my own, is very challenging not only emotionally but financially. I am struggling to stay in school with all my bills adding up. I need as much help as I can in order to stay ahead and continue on a good path and get off of state assistance. I do not want to be another number, depending on welfare.I am not sure what else to add, or what to take out. Any input?!
fionaleeeee 2 / 17 Oct 20, 2014 #2maybe you can state something like:with the help of the scholarship, I will do ...(something) to improve not only the life of my own but also the community...i guess the school is going to help somebody who can contribute back. maybe you want to show some aspects of that!

Do not just only tell them about your bad situation, convince them with your effort and maybe write about your bright future if u would be granted this scholarship.Hope that my comment is useful for u in someway :)
