Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Master's Degree Programme in Finance at University of xxx for the 2013 autumn term. Having reviewed the University ratings and spoken with former as well as current students of your university, I know that University of xxx is a school that is ranked among the top European universities in terms of finance faculty, caring environment where all students are supported to improve their learning outcomes. With distinguished course content reflecting the most recent developments in scientific knowledge, I am confident that program will make me qualified to meet my future aspirations of becoming an exceptional banking officer and the coming two years would be a highly valuable experience for me.
In high school, I graduated with mathematics as my majors. I am continuing my academic career with the study of " Finance and Banking" at University of YYY. During 4 years in university, I gave myself opportunities to apply financial knowledge to practical circumstances and from then also improve my social skills by joining many useful activities and training courses such as Virtual Stock exchange 2009, Virtual Gold exchange 2010, being leader of volunteer team in Asia Indoor Game 2009, soft skills training course, internship in Credit Department at ABC Bank, etc.
After graduating with GPA 7.92/10 that led me in top high score of total 735 students in Finance and Banking department, I worked as Credit-Marketing officer in Leasing Company. Having worked with Small and Medium sized enterprise (SME) clients which have complicated unaudited financial statements helped me not only to enhance my understanding of SMEs' significant characteristics but also to build a strong sustainable milestones in financial analysis aspect.
With the purpose of raising my career to next level, in September 2011, I have became loan officer in ABC Bank where I have great chance to be in charge of FDI companies and big sized corporation clients. As a result, I have strengthened my financial knowledge, figured out nature of financial market in developing countries as well as gained more useful experiences in my young career. With my passion in finance and unstoppable endeavor, I received the "Special award" for excellent result of Job knowledge test (1st place in Credit subject) in June 2012. I have continuously outperformed my peers and have been nominated the title "The best staff of the year 2012". Besides that, I gradually enhance myself in all aspects by joining the extracurricular activities organized by ABC Bank such as Olympic games, charities, "Green day - day for environment", etc.
What started during my financial analysis classes in university as a hobby turned into a more serious interest later in my life. The more I work with financial statements, the more I desire to be master in this filed. I, therefore, want to carry out a research in Financial analysis that brings me to the deeper look of companies nature enshrouded cleverly under simple numbers. Correspondingly, I strongly hope that my research can be accomplished in the appropriate environment like University of XXX.
Given my past history of commitment to excellence as well as bright direction for future, I am confident that I will bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm to your program. I am sure to exceed your expectations, because of both my academic, social skills and the experience gained from my previous and current job. I like your letter very much, you already have wonderful career and it is clear from letter that you are motivated and skilled. Just I think that you should talk a little bit more about the subjects that you are going to learn in university. You could write that you have good practical experience and you would like to have theoretical knowledge as well to be able to analyze situations better. Good luck :)
