katie14245 1 / - Dec 7, 2012 #1I have to write a five paragraph essay about propaganda techniques used in ads and i have 3 sentences for the introduction paragraph but i have no idea where to go from there on the first paragraph help please? We have to pick 3 ads and tell what techniques they used then explain how they did it so lots of help please?
courtney24601 3 / 3 3 Dec 7, 2012 #2Well in your introduction you should include examples of the ads you are going to use in your body paragraphs (This sentence should most likely be your thesis statement.)As for the propaganda in ads there are a ton of examples for how the American government advertised during WW2. One of the most famous in Rosie the Riveter (there is tons of info on her through google.) Also, the government used propoganda techniques in the WE WANT YOU posters.If you decide to use Rosie she should be included in your introduction (usually in your thesis.) then you could start off your first paragraph using her as an example and describing why propaganda was used or the effect of the propaganda.
