Is there really a rivalry between Canadians and Americans (research)

I'm currently working on the said rivalry between Americans and Canadians as seen in popular American pop texts like How I met your mother; but I wanted to prove that there is actually no rivalry between the since these mockery are just present in the internet and probably it is just our of fun. Can you help me look for sources to prove that there are actually no rivalry between the two? Or probably some sources about the similarities and differences of both Americans and Canadians.

I also need suggestions on how I can improve my paper and how I can defend my proposal this Thursday. I would really love it if you guys can help me. Thanks! :)

I honestly do not think so, we are honestly almost the same people. They make fun of us, we make fun of them, it's very lighthearted humor. However, I would mention the rivalry that occurs whenever our hockey teams play.
