Narrowing down a research topic about abortion.

Hi, I am writing a research paper on abortion. I know it is a typical topic, so I am looking for a way to make it my own. I want to narrow it down a bit. I was thinking about discussing what may happen if it where to be banned. Does anyone else have other suggestions? I would appreciate any feed back. Thank you!

Wow! What an assignment. Well, I don't know if arguing one side or the other is an option or desire of yours, but that would undoubtedly make it personal. I am in favor of your idea of the topic about the possibility of completely banning it, that could prove to be a very interesting and thought provoking avenue. In addition, the direction of presenting a "what-if" situation such as a ban is original in and of itself, as it goes beyond the science and emotion of abortion and itself and both sides of the issue. You could also, or instead create a section for the alternative, being no restrictions at all (which feels gross even to type!!)

You are on the right track and in my opinion, any personal thoughts on the matter alongside theory and fact will of course make it your own.

Like Susan said, you could bring out points on either sides of the topic and show contrasting opinions.
Positives - Abortion in every aspect of the word is a crime against the very Life we live each day. It would certainly be a check on the rising female foeticide worldwide.

Negatives - But this very evil turns out to be a blessing in disguise when the growing foetus threatens the life of the pregnant Mother or in case of rapes among young teenagers.

You could conclude in a subtle not by saying that MTP ( Medical Termination Of Pregnancy ) should not be banned completely but stringent methods should be adopted by the authorities to prevent it's misuse.
