I would pick a specific area since this can be extremely broad. You can focus on the transition of military technology into the civilian world and how the impact on modern society..(like GPS, the web, etc..) Or, you can focus on Nobel Prize winners and the breakthroughs they have had in technology and how each on has influenced modern society.
