Dear sir/madam
I have visited Finland twice, although the visit was short, I set my sight for Finland as my destination to take master program, I am interested in enrolling at Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture because Aalto University has Collaborative and Industrial Design major as one of its master programs. Aalto University is one of the world's top universities in the Finland and having an outstanding reputation and ranking in global standards and a Aalto University degree is recognized internationally. Studying in Aalto University also give me chances to learn Finland cultures and language which has been recognized as one of the international language beside English. Despite this is my second time to study overseas, I feel very excited with the diversity of people who learn at Aalto University.
For your reference on my background, I have enclosed my resume and portfolio. After four year study in China, I graduated in UK and has been awarded the degree of Master of Arts. However, I decided I wanted to expand further my knowledge and continue with a Master degree in Aalto University.
At university, I discussed arts with congenial classmates, read many books and materials and had a deeper understanding on Industrial Design. I learned many professional courses, such as Product Rendering, Ergonomics, Mechanical Drawing, Computer Aided Design, Material Technology, Sketch Design, Product Design, and Aesthetic Theory. At university, I could put my creative design ideas into creative products that contain both entertainment elements and functional usages. In order to put artistic theories into practice, I actively participated in various design activities. For example, I joined in the designs of public facilities, souvenir for celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of our university, and Wuhan City Emblem. When I worked in Shenzhen Design Industrial Park, I exchanged ideas with designers, communicated and produced products with laborers in workshop. During this period, I obtained basic competence to research and develop new products, mastered strong practical and computer application abilities, and improved my sense of appreciation.
Since 2013, I focus on design product for public environment. Most of my projects are provide communications and sharing experience for people. Such as my project 'Pillar Box' and 'Shelf and Light'. After graduation, I published a paper called 'Designing for Social Interaction and Sharing Experiences' with my tutor Richard Appleby. The paper was attempt to illustrate through references and examples, how the potential design values for social interaction can be communicated through objects and context as a connected product system. Also how these design approaches can become most important for the success of any subsequent human shared experience.
I will explore and develop my creative practice in response to a brief through research and advanced practice, through this I will define my rationale and methods of working and through written reflection. In the same time, I may develop a sense of theoretical foundations that underpin practice within the creative arts whilst demonstrating how theory can be put to work in the research process, through the texts and case studies drawn from the wider cultural field.

Though short, I have made two visits to Finland and they inspired me to do my masters in Finland. I'm keen on having enrolled at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture because Aslto University offers Collaborative and Industrial Design major in one of its Masters Programs.However, I decided I wanted to expand further my knowledge and continue with a Master degree in Aalto University.
