I have found your University website several months ago and have been religiously following your updates on masters programmes. According to the researches that I have done about Umeĺ University, the university is alive with enthusiasm, creativity and original ideas. Umeĺ is known as a large university city where international students are taking part in developing knowledge along with researchers and entrepreneurs, which has attracted my interest a lot to the city itself.

Since Umeĺ university has a large selection of courses and over 30 programmes taught in English, it is obvious that it has a lot to offer for the international students. This is an important issue for me as an International student applying to a master program.

I have talked to some students who had already been in Umeĺ and I have got very positive recommendations. Also by having a look at the interviews conducted with the current students, I have found that the satisfaction rates are high and the students' lives are encouraging. I feel very enthusiastic to join and experience the valuable studies period that they are talking about.

Such an inspiring environment would be an important continuity for my educational success in research and learning. I believe the facilities that Umeĺ offers are tools to lead a hardworking student towards best educations. It seems that there is a very nice relationship between the university personnel and students, as well as innovative and interesting method of teaching, providing lots of interesting and useful materials.

Umeĺ University is well known as one of Sweden's leading academic and research institutions with a strong international dimension. I have spent a lot of time and attention on choosing my first ranked university on Swedish universities websites. I found Umeĺ University as the most welcoming for a non-EU International student. Perhaps, one of the most important issues for students from a developing country is the tuition fees which can be a huge barrier in their education path. I figured out that Umeĺ University is paying more attention to the offers of scholarships to talented non-EU students. The scholarship can open a new way to cement my previous educations for improved future career opportunities.

Being in a Swedish society as a master student in Stockholm for one year has gifted me calmness, organization and ability to focus on my goals. These attitudes that I found in the Swedish environment is leading me to work on my objectives clearly and straight forward. I am looking for a higher quality of these attitudes in the peaceful friendly city of Umeĺ as an important point towards my success.

Since my bachelor degree records show the high grades that I have achieved, and my KTH master program transcript is indicating how successful I was during my education, I am very positive for achieving this valuable scholarship from Umeĺ University.

In KTH University always just one course is taught for four or five weeks. I really enjoyed that because you can focus on one course. According to my research I understood that Umeĺ University has a similar system which is very good because I will be able to learn a lot in each topic step by step.

I have seen that the relationship between the students and teachers is friendlier and more personal in Sweden. This has helped me in my Masters of Architectural Lighting Design to contact and communicate with my tutors very closely which is a very positive point in studying and researching with ease of mind. The Umeĺ students that I have met have pointed that people of Umeĺ city are very friendly and helpful. I find this kind of atmosphere quite positive towards education for a student from abroad.

I believe that living in a different city and country will be an important teaching tool. Everyday can be a learning process and this is really what I experienced in Stockholm. Now I am looking for a bit different environment which can tell me about a different climate, cultures, and lifestyles in order to experience another way of life. At the same time, I do not want to jump into a much unknown place where I have to start from zero. I have been learning Swedish language on a daily basis and I am in a level that knows the society very well. I would like to improve all these points in Sweden and follow a continued goal. This is due to the fact that to gain a big result one needs to spend big effort in a long term. Therefore, I am pretty much interested in Umeĺ, with different climate and environment while in the same country and background, as my next step.

Hopefully by getting master degrees from two well-known universities I feel guaranteed that I can pursue to my future education and work in one of the best ways. I wish to grow to be a researcher who can combine the science of planning and design from various aspects.A master degree of Architectural Lighting Design from KTH and a master of Spatial Planning and Development from Umeĺ University can be a big opportunity in my life. I am planning to connect both subjects with directing my master theses to each other. Both are however connected in many ways. In the Architectural lighting program I have gained the knowledge on how the urban environment, transportation and traffic, cities and outdoors can be transformed with different lighting conditions. I have studied the effects and the techniques and I would like to direct my master thesis to this subject. In order to go ahead for bigger and more important researches in the future I strongly believe that I need to study the unique program of Spatial Planning and Development in Umeĺ University. The international aspects of these top universities can help me to be in a prosperous position in the future.

I would really like to work and gain some experience in my field of study in Sweden and I am planning to do so as part time along with start of my master thesis from April 2014 until the Autumn education semester is about to start in Umeĺ university. In this case I would definitely contribute better to my new master program in Umeĺ.

I would like to continue with a PhD and research as my long term goal. There are so many things that I learned and so many things that I want to learn and use in order to find something new that can help people to fulfill their needs in the society.

I am looking forward to join Umeĺ University and take full advantage of everything the town and university have to offer.
