Growing up in a cosmopolitan area of Accra -Ghana, in a suburb called Nima was a unique experience. Largely populated by immigrants from neighboring West African countries, has had an influence on my education and career interest. These values have left an indelible mark on my intellectual conscience, fueling a desire to pursue a career path in development that is regional and continental, with the view of impacting positively the politics -policy orientation at the inter-governmental level.

I breathed life into this dream through my project work titled Children's Protection on Internet Where I looked at the policy and institutional structures placed to secure the internet environment of the United State of America vis a vis Ghana's experience. I must say comparative institutional and policy administration is of greatest interest to me, because it set standards and offers one the opportunity to gauge it. Studying ,adjusting and replicating policy success stories is at the bottom of my intellectual quest , and I find no other institution better placed, not only to given a training that is top notch ,but the bilingual component of the program is most fitting to helping me realize a career as a policy analyst on a regional stage .

A first degree in Social work and Political Science has fertilized an understanding for politics and administration; an appreciation of its locus, i.e., government agencies in charge of delivering social and economic program that captures the vision and aspirations of its people. Social work training has indeed heightened a passion to crave for policies that could be as efficient and effective; holding in high esteem, the tenet of best practices and sound management which unfortunately are often overlook as a result political expediency.

My faculty is powered by undergraduate courses in psychology, international politics, public administration, social policy, which endows a panoramic view of issues and a distinct approach to drawing solutions. I am endowed with a "multi-faceted and multi sectorial mindset" which gives one the leverage to appreciate the various dimensions of research and policy analysis.

Three internship experiences in institutions such as Catholic Action for Street Children, Department of Social Welfare and Federation of Youth Clubs has bestowed an appreciation for operations of organizations at the crass root; an opportunity to identify policy at work and getting to witness what I call policy -politics implementation paradoxes.

My obvious strength lies in the five years of work in administrative and management position with Osu Children's Library Fund, Canada and Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Ghana. Coordinating affairs between Public and Private Entities has brought home the many issues of governments falling victim of apathy on projects that do not inure direct political score or bring in votes, and the highlight of public private partnership in social services that is an emerging paradigm in community development.

In spite of having to merge education with work at the undergraduate stage, I came up with a second class upper. The vibrancy of the community I grew up, coupled with its challenges and opportunities, not to mention my penchance to engage intellectual minds make me a suitable candidate ready to pursue Master's in Public Policy and Administration.
