SOP Msc Manufacturing management Bradford University.

its supposed to be less than 300 words, please help me summarize it.

Manufacturing management brings to mind the epitome of re-engineering as a strategy used to gain a competitive advantage in this present business world which is full of changes and contingencies. It summarizes all I could ask for in one course. I have always wanted a course that could cut across all the engineering disciplines and so in my 3rd year 2nd semester I was looking for a course in manufacturing and industry for masters and I was doing some management training at the time and hoped to do some external management courses in my final year, semester 8 which I have done now and await my certificate. Then I found manufacturing and industry as a 2 years program me towards the middle of 2009 in the University of Liverpool and now wanted to apply but they did not have the course as it was, but luckily for me I found a course that comprised of not only all the engineering but also the management in Bradford University for only one year.

It is said that we are in the information age and truly we are because some countries in the world have reached that stage but most 3rd world countries are either in the agricultural age or industrial age or both. Manufacturing management will help me to know the basics in all that's involved in engineering process in the manufacturing sector and its management aspect in order to appreciate the transition from the industrial age to the information age and be able to apply modern techniques of manufacturing processes first in my Dad's business, to start and manage my his dreamt car refinishes factory. Presently he imports other car refinishes products and is partially suffering from inadequate backward integration. Then also I would like to help my society to manage any manufacturing firm I feel can operate much better with its present resources.

I side with the Dean Professor Alastair Wood of the School of Engineering, Design and Technology, as he said that Engineering "is a 'people serving' profession and that it requires well qualified and motivated graduates who want to be future leader within the field."

Having seen the brochure I chose Bradford University because I needed strongly to be motivated to increase my bounds in creative thinking, in a place where the average student is thinking productively. I have seen that motivation is lacking in African schools, not because they don't have instruments and facilities but because they do not properly orient students on the beauty of the course they are about to do, and how it will benefit society. Speaking of facility, the school of Engineering, Design and Technology, Bradford is integrated with the industry. I've also learnt from the brochure that Ford has been sponsoring Bradford centre for Engineering Quality Improvement since 1995.

Personally if I have the slightest interest in something and I can appreciate it in practice, that thing will be part of me. Some of the things I had interest and appreciated having tried them out in practice were Athletics especially 100m and 4 by 100m 1st leg, football (no. 9) table tennis, drawing of din serous, cartoon figures and the like to decorate the class prior to open days when parents come to school to see how their children are faring, also connection of a touch lighter which I did and felt proud because I felt I created something, also gymnastics especially the back flip with no hands this I learnt forcefully despite the danger just because I saw my mate doing it and liked how he did it and this was in my primary school days.

In my junior secondary school days I appreciated table tennis, football and basketball and connection of circuits given circuit diagram especially the electronics circuits which I fascinated about especially when we had to solder to tighten our connections or simply use a bread board and got desired results.

In my senior secondary school I took an optional subject in applied electricity together with three other science students and loved it so much because the teacher was approachable and could because of our number afford to regularly take us on trips to see transformers and other electrical equipment. I still appreciated basketball but the rest of my previous interests I did not appreciate them because I did not make enough time to practice them.

In University I knew no other course to do but electrical and electronics engineering, which I struggled with because we where over 100 students in a class with no working PA systems and clear board markers, and no real orientation of the benefits of the course, with poor outdated equipment for. Though I still appreciated the course because it has been my interest and I respect electrical energy because it is the most transportable form of energy. I also appreciated playing pool a lot, basketball and table tennis, checkers and joined committees in the Catholic church and enjoyed going for various meetings and open seminars and making contributions because a good number of times they were not just accepted or applauded but effected and when I do not contribute I listen and learn a lot from other people's contribution. I had interest in so many other things like Photoshop design, modeling animation figures, programming and creation of websites, Salsa dancing, athletics, piano playing, acting, proper midi mixing of beats and guitar playing etc, but because I spent more time struggling with the course and more so in the environment I found myself I did not see motivated people in my areas of interest, I could neither learn nor practice them.

I chose Bradford not only because it has the exact courses that defines all I could look for in a course but also has the right and supportive environment for international students to blend and learn more about their courses informally (outside the classroom) through the hub and with good personal support systems and with constant electricity and internet facilities in halls and the proximity of halls to campus. Also it could help develop my various interests, especially through the international students union where one can form a society, and also with the regular trips organized year round, where one can learn about different cultures, beliefs and traits, in the world.

...found a course that comprised of not only all the engineering but also the management in Bradford University for only one year. The end of this sentence seems unclear... I crossed it out and don't know how to fix it!

It is said that we are in the information age, and truly we are, but some countries in the world have reached that stage but most 3rd world countries are either in the agricultural age or industrial age or both. ---use commas when you write a compound sentence. I shortened this one for you.

I like the last paragraph. Capitalize Internet. I guess you should take away material in the 4rth and 5th paragraphs. There is only so much the reader can remember, so develop a memorable theme in the beginning, and cut out a lot of the material that does not relate to it. You can't express all of this in 300 words... so choose the idea that is most important to you and cut away all that does not support it.
