Hello, Group:
Do you think this letter can be accepted for phd program, please I need your help, what I should edit/add to be accepted.

I am writing to you this letter to express my interest to take up graduate studies in department of Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Study. I have been aspiring to be part of your department for a long time now since I am aware that it provides the best education and environment for both graduate and post graduate students.
I feel the Educational Linguistics Program at the University of New Mexico is well suited to help me meet my goals. I aim to pursue a PhD degree in Educational Linguistics in your university because I have graduated degree (MAT) English Education, and Bachelor in English language as well, which are related to the post graduate degree that I want to take up. I believe that your university is one of the best schools that I have encountered since it offers courses that will enhance my prior skills and help me to have more experiences in teaching the English language and research in Linguistics.

Since I graduated from University of Khartoum, I have been working as a teacher for both high school students and adult learners in a college. In addition, I have taught EFL in Sudan, Saudi Arabia for more than five years. When I came to the US as a permanent residence I have admitted to the graduate school in NC A&T State University into MAT program with concentrating in English Education, the program is combined between English Department and School of Education student who finish 24 credits hours will obtain an initial NC teaching License. As an ESL student I have worked very hard to finish to my master degree. While I was in the program I joined the English writing Centre, helping the undergraduate students to write their easy and assignments in a good academic writing way. In addition, I taught English as second language here in Greensboro, NC helping second language and other immigrants. And I taught English 12 students at Dudley High School as well. These work experiences taught me patience, perseverance, and alertness. I have dealt with students with various backgrounds; therefore, it helped me to become more flexible when it comes to my teaching methods. I also became more creative in coming up with ways to inspire my students and help them achieve their long term goals. The personal qualities and the skills that I have acquired will surely aid me in fulfilling your requirements and hopefully increase the chance of securing a place in your institution.
In terms of a career, I see myself teaching ESL, applied Linguistics, and going into researching or publishing Education and language topic. Doctoral studies would be valuable to me in several ways. First, your teaching assistant ship program would provide me with the practical teaching experience I am eager to acquire. Further, earning a Ph.D. in Educational Linguistics would advance my other two career goals by adding to my skills, both critical and creative, in working with language and education. Ultimately, however, I see the Ph.D. as an end in itself, as well as a professional stepping stone; I enjoy studying Education and linguistics for its own sake and would like to continue my studies on the level demanded by the Ph.D. program.
If ever I am chosen as a graduate student in your school, I will continue to work hard to reach my long term goals in life. These goals include career advancement, improvement on teaching strategies and attitude, and contribution to the teaching community. I will work hard to achieve these goals not just for my own sake, but for the sake of my students and community. I want to use what I have learned to improve my current condition and if permitted to, I want to be part of your department’s faculty to pay you back for the opportunity you have given me.

I am grateful for having this chance to apply as a student in your university. I know that in your university, I will be able to achieve my goals and enrich my knowledge to improve my skills further.
I am especially interested in Educational Linguistics. My personal teaching projects have involved some combination of these subjects. For the oral section of my comprehensive exams, I specialized in Second language acquisition.
In my studies toward a doctoral degree, I hope to examine more closely the relationship between my language to other languages. Should I attend your school, I would like to resume my studies of Education Linguistics, with special attention to its elements. As a native Arabic speaker whose knowledge in my native language will help me do in-depth research in Educational Linguistics by way of comparisons to other languages. In my regard, earning a Ph.D. in Educational Linguistics would better position me to continue research and teaching in my field in the years ahead.
In light of my above-mentioned qualifications and qualities and my personal skills and academic capabilities, I strongly want to be one of the New Mexico University Ph.D. in Educational Linguistics Program.
I chose the PhD program in Educational Linguistics at University of New Mexico after carefully reviewing other programs offered by different universities. The Department of Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies offers a type of program that I have been looking for.
Respectfully,
Yours Sincerely,

Hello,

When you are applying for a PhD your letter of intent has to be research based. While your undergraduate and graduate degree may not have been research based, your PhD will be. Because of this, you have to include areas of interest. What do you want to research and how can this program help you accomplish this. So try not to beg for admissions, as you have done here, but rather display a mutual benefit for you and the university through collaboration. -AAO

Hope this helps.
