i am a very active person who always gets into everything, my life so far has been full of different experiences. I was lucky enough to visit interesting places around the world, meet a lot of new people and to witness first-hand the ways in which countries differ socially, culturally, and politically.
I was always fascinated by travelling and think that the best way for anybody to become educated about the world around him is to experience the world first hand; to see the different cultures and lifestyles up and close. This allows the person to step out of their box and see a completely different world that might show them how different life can be and how different cultures value different things.
Fuelled by a curiosity and passion to know more about foreign counties, I got enrolled in the undergraduate program in Asian studies (majoring in Chinese) at Moscow State University. Undoubtedly the education in one of the most well-known universities in Russia contributed greatly to my personal growth and after first semester I decided to experience a Chinese culture in depth, and to learn how to speak Mandarin Chinese. I also wanted to pursue this experience because it would provide me with a unique opportunity to widen my knowledge of the world. This is how I ended up living in Beijing. I went through an intensive Chinese language immersion program at Beijing foreign language university. After a year in China, I came back to Russia and continued my studies in MSU. My dad ran family business and I started spending all my spare time around him in this business environment, trying to help him around. And soon I have realized that Asian studies by itself weren't the area I wanted to dedicate my future career to. I enjoyed learning Chinese but I wanted to get a qualification in business area and a foreign language would be a good addition to it. I made up my mind that I should change my degree.
So I entered Australian National University in 2008 and graduated in 2009 with a bachelor degree in International Business. I was deeply fascinated with the subject of my studies. I enjoyed not only the clear logic in the economic analyses but also its close link with social practice and interaction, engaged in nowadays business industry. The Business related courses has helped me to appreciate the interdependence of countries in our world economy and the role of international firms yet not ignoring the importance of choices made by individuals and small firms that contribute the thriving dynamics of our economy. it also helped me in understanding how the government and firms use different policies in order to maintain a healthy business.
I came back to Russia and started my professional career in one of the Russia's largest facility management companies as an assistant of Deputy general director for sales (commercial real estate). During my time in the company, I have gained an award for outstanding performance My job role involves cash handling, serving customers, and dealing with customer enquiries and complaints, both in person and over the phone. My responsibilities also include the calculation of revenue, expenses and profit. I often have to apply my mathematical skill in my job, for example, when working out measurements and quantities for projects as well as putting into practice ways of increasing sales and profits. Working so closely with the public has increased my confidence, and my interpersonal skills as well as giving me an insight into how businesses, especially the service business, work. Soon after I got an insight of the way our company operates I realized that accounting is the backbone to every successful business, without proper account keeping and finance it is almost impossible for any type of business to survive especially in the economic crisis that still surrounds us today. So interest in business then joined with accountancy. Moreover, the recent economic downturn has brought to focus the importance of financial management and active control of money flows in the mere survival of a firm, irrespective of size.
During my work in the company I have realized that accounting is the field of work I wish to proceed in.
I desire to once again experience multicultural exposure and dynamic learning environment. I was excited to learn about the excellent Master programme that your university offers. I believe that the course will give me a solid foundation of relevant theory and techniques to develop my individual capacity and key skills that are sought after by future employers. Furthermore, it would provide a precious insight into western approach to accounting, so valuable among Russian employers. I understand I must be prepared to work hard to succeed in the degree course a am appplying for. I think I have the motivation and the ability to undertake the course successfully, which would also equip me with the skills to pursue career in Accounting in the future.
I have long admired your esteemed university and believe that the combination of my past experiences and academic knowledge will qualify me as an *** University student candidate, and furthermore will prepare me to achieve my career goals in the future.
