MA in architecture motivation to a programme

I've been trying to write this for already a week and I still feel like it needs a lot of correction. Please help me in figuring out the weak parts of my essay.

When I look out of the window in my flat and see my town being built up with the stock tedious buildings, and historical areas being ruined by unprofessional work I feel a determined desire to change it. When there is a strong necessity in professional architects in my hometown I feel an ability to bring my help. I'm convinced that getting a Master Degree in Architecture will allow me to become a high-class professional in this field.

While my major at the university gave me basic knowledge on architecture, specialization in urban planning introduced me to a way design and function, customer's needs and project service life are combined. Apart from the university education I've received a lot of experience on my job. I participated in various interior design projects, especially design of public places - offices, restaurants and health care centers. I was trying to receive comprehensive knowledge to prepare myself for future career.

But no matter how much knowledge you acquire, there still are some personal traits that are required for successful work. While participating in an international workshop in urban planning I developed an important ability to complete a project within a short period of time and to generate new ideas quickly. Working in a team I showed up leader skills and organized our work. Experience of team project is really important to me as projects in urban planning often require work of big amount of people. During my job in architectural firm I gained a strong sense of responsibility and time management. All kinds of skills that I already have are useful for my future career yet they are uncoordinated. I believe that Master Program in Architecture will allow me to study this field in a much more detailed and advanced way.

Nowadays at the time of rapid growth of cities and increasing urban population the need in well-educated architects may become very strong. At this special master program I will receive a very important knowledge on both existing and new built environment. Creating harmonic interaction between these two components is the significant mission for an architect. I believe that education I've already acquired will allow me to pursue the best results in "...". Being a well-organized and responsible person I will be able to complete serious tasks. A high-quality education that I receive in "..." if admitted will become an important preparation for my future career.

I'm also somewhat confused by the tense you used in the 3rd para. It's mingled with 2 or 3 tenses. Would you check it again?
