Conveying the fact - "Odd Question...."

  Jul 18, 08, 01:11pm  #
Hello,

This is prolly not the intended use of this forum but I do have a question and was hoping for some feed back.

If I want to convey the fact that I want to and am waiting to be struck by lightning does the below sentence make sense and convey my point at least in a subtle way...(sorry for the morbidness of the statement but i find it amusing)

"Patiently waiting for an opportunistic bolt of lightning." or

"Patiently waiting for an opportunistic lightning strike"

I tried to look up the definition of opportunistic but I still can't tell if it makes sense. I thank you all for any input you can provide and apologize if this site is intended solely for the purpose of academia.

Thanks

Nick B

Good evening.

Well, let's see: opportunistic means taking advantage of an opportunity. So, in that sense, your first sentence makes the most sense and sounds the best. I think the first one rings best!
