Beginner Writer Question; I have never written an essay in my life

I have never in my life ever written an Essay, I don't even know how to start, or even if there is a header to it. Please help, should there be anything at top center of the first page? Michael Martin

my assignment : Mastering a Skill I am to think of a skill that most do not have but could benefit from mastering. Why would people benefit from having this skill? What are the consequences of not having this skill? Write a 750 word essay to persuade my instructor that all people should master this skill. Michael Martin
