Every year, since I could remember, I have made New Years resolutions that usually last about a week. This year I decided to think of resolutions I might actually like to keep. For instance, one of my resolutions is to not be afraid to make changes and try new things. I want to keep my promise because I hope to always be busy and also I hope to live a more fulfilled year.

i'd suggest that you give examples of how you'd change things and try novelties. You need to be more specific about your resolutions becuase you specific said that you "decided to think of resolutions" you actually will do, but what you've give are very vague topics.

What is the purpose of the writing? Is it a school assignment?

Nail it down. An apostrophe is needed in New Year's. The resolutions belong to the New Year. Think of it like saying, "Tuesday's to-do list" versus "I always to AA on Tuesdays."

What is the specific prompt? For an application you might want to add how this resolution will help you contribute to a university environment.
