I'm looking for themes, and things to easily compare and contrast between these two works

Well, make a list of the themes in each novel. If necessary, you can get these from the Internet. Then, see which ones are the same, or which seem to overlap heavily. I wish I could be of more help, but I've only read one of the two novels, and so cannot give specific examples to aid you.

Hello,

In the words of...whoever said it first: "You give a little, you get a little." We really don't have much to go on in order to help you with themes. If you post a plot summary, in your own words, of each novel, that might help us to help you.

Hope this helps!

You probably think about situation in 1984 when people were thinking that machines will stop when humanity get closer to new millennium.

you could make a fun of those people or you could put yourself in that time and write something..

Yes, that would be an excellent idea. Plus, you could even write down what you think the themes of the two novels are, and what sort of comparisons you were thinking of making. The more you give us to go on, the better feedback we can give you.

Nice! Thanks, Aleksandar, that is the kind of thing that makes this forum cool.

Read things other people have written about those books, and see what the theme are. Do they have any common themes? Do they have any themes that show opposing views?

This can be a great experience; some people really enjoy literature, for good reason.

Try Sparknotes to get ideas of the "themes, motifs" etc.
