I have to write a thesis statement from this question. Who are the three people who have been the most important influences in your life. This is my thesis statement: The three people who have had the most important influence in my life are my father,my mother and my brother. How can I improve this thesis statement? craig thompson

You might add some specific details. So, "My father, my mother, and my brother have each influenced me in important ways, by teaching me self-reliance, compassion, and cruelty respectively." You should replace the exact qualities with ones of your own, of course, but this should give you a decent model to work with. Sean, EssayForum.com

Great idea... and it helps to come up with a single overarching theme if possible -- so that the three aspects are integrated by the essay's common theme. Could the theme be "loyalty," or "optimism," for example? Kevin, EssayForum.com
